Water Treatment Systems

Anybody know anything about WTS? I'm on well water and decided to clean out the salt tank (been about 4 years) and I can't remember when I put the system in was how much water I added to the salt tank.I put 120lbs of salt into the tank and put enough water in to cover the salt. I then did a manual backwash to the system and the water is up higher now,so do I need to take out some water? or let it be and it will level itself out over time.

you shouldnt have had to add any water to the salt tank. which system are you running ? it'll fill the tank than use it during backwash as it needs to.. I wouldnt worry about the level, it's got an overflow on it "just in case"

My new house is on well water too, and it's a metered backwash (about every 3 days) and the water level seems pretty random in the salt tank when I check it

Yes you do need to add a little water at first to get the salt brine built up.Anyways I have it all squared away now.
