Sliders

What's your take on Bolted vs Welded?

Who's got some cheap ones out there I can buy?

What should I be looking for structurally?

honestly i would say weld on is the way to go, a guy i work with is doing bolt on ones for the simple fact his chevy t-case crossmember bolts through the frame where a weld on support would go cheap ones gonna be tough to find, guess it depends on what your idea of cheap is too, lol as far as structure definately somethin made with dom tube if your goin for tube looking ones, personally i run the all pro sliders, no complaints yet, but i havent even touched them to a rock either, lol

you could most likely build your own for less than 250, all pros are just over 250

They're running a Christmas sale, unpainted sliders should be shipped for less than $250
Compare 'em to the Demello HD Round sliders, which are closer to $300 after shipping, also unpainted. Both are awesome deals

Also if you plan on eventually adding an exo cage welding your sliders well to your frame is crucial as your exo will be tied into your sliders. I have ALL Pro sliders (The only thing of All Pro I have that I actually Like) But they were welded on by a guy here who does welding for chair lifts. They were welded on so well that they picked the truck up on the lift and shook it. Then I had my F&R bumpers done in such a way that everything is ready for me to drop my exo on it this winter...

I gotta say, after checking out the CBI sliders and the Demello sliders, I like the weld on gusset plate design much better on Demello's. It wraps around the bottom of the frame, CBI's doesn't. But is that worth an extra $100?

I checked that out too but if you look at some of those installed ....they didn't weld the bottom...kinda funny.

if you do a bolt on its only worth it to you if the bolt on setup wraps around the frame and bolts to itself........ technically demellos setup is going in the right direction for weld on but a full wrap would give you alot more strength because you are beefing up the frame

I got mine from A.O.R(www.aor4x4.com) for $199+tax shipped to the door! Its HREW tube thats not as strong but I dont plan on dropping my truck from 6 feet in the air on a rock!! I have slammed them good and they rock. BTW they are weld on. If you go for these tell them you're a TToRA member.

The AOR's come pretty much unassembled though, right? It appears that way.

what's a $100 when you are talking about something that is going to save your rocker panels from what mine are beginning to look like. If the Demello slider are actually more functional I would find the extra change worth it. I am having mine custom made and welded on when ever the parts get here, buts I'm spending a little more than $250.

no I am not loaded please don't tease me

if you're down in the springs, armorology = $125 per side installed. if you want extra crap, i think he charges the cost of materials.

also, my .02 about welding vs bolton... the best option imo is to weldsleeves through the frame and then bolt them on... but that would be such a PITA...
so weld on and throw some paint up there.

Armorology, huh? Got any more info on them? I'd much rather drive down there, observe the process and the product, and drive away with a completed job (then go party at Eden) than wait 4-6 weeks for the shipped product then find a welder who seems to know anything about 4wheeling products and not just mufflers...

Is that with Paint or Powder coating?

Sounds like a great deal? Do you have any picts? I was thinking about having another steel fabricator make them up for me, but this sounds like it would be about the same cost.

Thanks

Talk to Lil red but he got a set from a contact in Pueblo for $300. I think anyone will have a tough time finding "already made to put on" sliders for less.
