Removing grill on 2001 Tacoma

I've got the grill almost all the way off ....i've got the passenger side light out ...but the drivers side won't budge...I dont want to yank on it because I dont want to break the chrome peice surrounding it. The entire grill is out except the corner by the driver side....what clip am I missing???

Anyone have any ideas on how to get this thing loose?!! Its driving me crazy ...and its cold outside *sniff*

Why are you taking the lights out? Are you talking corner lights? Anyway, just be patient and use a flat head screwdriver and play dactor on the truck! I changed my grill from chrome(I hate chrome) to a gun metal gray! I just used a flathead and poped clips(nothing ever broke too). For the corner light, you unscrew the screws on each side on top of the grill and they just pop out. Hope that helps!!

It's been over a year and I cant remember!! You might need some pliars and squeeze them through. If you break your grill...I'll sell you mine
Oh crap I just realized that you have a runner so I might be wrong about your clips....they might be the same though.

Did either of you see the ***EDIT*** in my post that says " Got it !!! " ?

And yes I was talking about the corners ...the headlights are still there

The corner light on the driver side was being weird ...just wouldn't unclip ...I finally got my hand wedged down behind it and unclipped it ....pop....easy.

Just took me rolling up my sleeves and wiggling my arm in like three different directions ...nothing broke ..all set.

I've got the Corners taped off for painting ....I'm just painting the Chrome trim that surrounds the lights ....well ...they're not so Chrome after "sanding/scuffing" down the finish a bit.

The Chrome trim around the grill has also been "sanded" as well...

I'm going to prime it tomorrow probably ...and spend most of the day sanding and re-priming....and sanding...and priming ...etc..

Then for the tack cloth ....and then Gloss Black. Last some Clear Coat ...

We'll see if this works..

hee, hee... if its anything like the one I did that job kind of sucks. We installed a billet grille on my brother 02 Tacoma... oh well good luck, don't cut or drill anything you don't mean to. And I am sure it'll look fine, maybe a little different but fine

Next step is to Take the grill out ....sand the "bumps" where I took the "Bars" out ...and prime and paint it black ...

Then RE-install grill ....and then back on the truck bitches ...

It's gonna look sweet.

P.S. you'll see a Mini Stanley Hacksaw on the ground ....worked perfect....home depot for $7.

What part of CR do you live in, and what does your truck look like...other than the new grill? I'll have to keep an eye out. I've been thinking about de-chroming my '02 as well. Ever drive by the fairgrounds, safeway, or True Value? I live in Plum Creek, so that's where our paths would most likely cross.
