Northern Colorado Drivetrain?

Has anyone had any experience with Northern Colorado Drivetrain in Greeley? I have the infamous "driveshaft vibration" on my new Taco. Have tried all the other fixes (different springs, shocks, carrier bearing spacer) and still have vibrations. I am on the group buy on TN for the Tom Woods driveshaft, but wondered if it would be easier in the long run to go with someone local? They are about the same price and the guys at Bullhide 4x4 use them all the time.

Any thoughts? Thanks All.

Not from that area, but i had bad vibe in driveline. I took it to get looked at and the guy at driveline specialist told me to tighten down the center of the support bearing. I did that and it has been fine for over 6 months now.

If you take the rear part of the drive shaft off you can see a large nut inside the support bearing. You need to unstake that nut and tighten it down and then re stake it.

That fix gets rid of a lot of play and its like 120$ cheaper than a new support bearing.

Good luck

I used Boulder driveline when I put my crawler in.

They look nice and run smooth.

Have you checked your angles? How about leave your truck at a driveline shop and let them diagnos it so you don't throw parts at it. They might give you some pointers and save you money. Or you could drive it down here and I could look at it.

Most people lift there trucks and don't pay attention to the angles, the leading cause of vibrations after lift. Sometimes you can get a u-joint failure on a higher milage truck.

Cardian joints are self canceling joints and should be the only joint to have angle on your truck. If the lower joint now has angle that is where the vibration is coming from. This is very basic but that is pretty much what needs to happen on the rear of your truck.

Thanks for all the advice. I hesitate trying to shim the rear axle. I have read about many other 05+ Taco owners that have this same problem. Shimming the axle and lowering the carrier bearing have only helped a few people. My truck also had these vibrations before the lift was installed. They were there from day one, the lift only magnified them. With the Deavers, I loaded enough sandbags in he bed to squat the truck back to stock height... vibration still there (not sure if this actually rotated the pinion angle back to stock angles, or if it just raised the axle). The shop that did the initial install said they checked all the driveline anlges and everything looked OK. What exactly they did I'm not sure. After utilizing the handy "search button" on this and a few other Toyota sites, the Tom Woods driveshaft appears to be the only real solution to the problem. Hopefully there are no major long term effects from the one piece.

I am down in Denver quite often, I would love to bring it buy and get another opinion.

Northern CO Driveline

Is it the place on the corner behind Kings Pawn off of 8th
If it is then they are very good at what they do and they might be able to answer any ?'s you might have.

I grew up in Greeley and they made a driveshaft for my 50 chevy and modified a few others for me.
