project mouse nest:Nastiest Blower Motor.

Hey everybody, check out this photo a guy on Yotatech posted of the blower motor in his 4Runner:

Here is a writeup on a very simple bit of maintenance: cleaning out your blower motor.
http://www.4runners.org/writeups/fan/index.html
I'm eager to break into mine, because it's noisy, and I know it's gonna be full of crap.
I thought just for fun, we could all post up pics of how nasty our blower motors are. A "nastiest blower motor" contest. I'll buy a beer for the winner. Eh? Let's see 'em! I'm going out to check mine right now!

Makes me glad I have a cabin air filter! And I have to admit it was pretty nasty when I pulled it to change it.

You should see the shit I pull out of those at the dealer, YUCK.

Ever seen a mouse spun soo fast the hair flys off, it dry out and become transparent? Then you try to pull it out of the blower and it sounds like rice crispies?

didnt quite have this problem with a blower motor....

but rather the hub caps on my old car... 3 mice were apparently between the hubcap and the wheel when i started driving one day lol...

my blower motor in my truck sounds great no abnormal noises at all.

My civic on the other hand

Yea, live ones are always cool. You'll kinda jump the first time you see one buzz by you. One of the guys in the shop has had a live cat jump out when he opened the hood of a Sienna. Rabbits are common live ones also.

I had to unwind a squirrel from the fan belts of an old chevy once. Amazing how sinewy and stringy the little rodent was, not to mention how far he stretched. (I was the new guy)

OMG this thread is hysterical. I feel for you yota tech guys, dealing with our crap (or mice, rabbits, cats) as the case may be....

I should be sure to double check tippy when I get her fixed. We live right next to a bunch of fields and had a hell of a time catching those bastards in the house till we resorted to the NON-Boulder use of a good-ol Victor snap trap. I think we caught 6 in 3 days!

This summer i parked the tacoma behind the barn where i was staying to keep it out of the way. With in two weeks a mouse had made a nest under my intake manifold between the engine banks. The little bastard. Needless to say my truck doesnt get parked in feilds anymore, and when i am going to pe leaving it for an extended period of time i like to set traps now.

this thread reminds me of my RX-7 we got sittin here. it sat for almost a year before i finally put a new starter in it and when i did, we discovered it wouldn't run, the problem, a rabbit decided to crawl into the 4" exhaust and build a home. it was burning crap in the muffler for hours. now that's a bad smell

Once a Soldier, Always a Soldier

01 Taco TRD, 3' body lift, ProComp 9000's on all four, custom bumpers, custom paint, American Racing wheels, 33' ProComp X-Terrains, grey wire mod, and soon, my flag will be returned to the rollbar and bed.

Wait, that does remind me of the time when I got one that decided to crawl out of the vent onto my lap while I was driving. Scared the crap outa me. It got stuck in the seat and was squirming around while I was driving. Finally got into a parking lot and pulled the seat out and was slamming it into the ground to knock the bugger out. Got alot of weird looks that day.

We do have a funny truck at work that the blower runs very slowy for about 10 min after you turn it off, so I tell all the new guys its a hamster running laps.
