22r+Weber 32-36= yay

Finally decided to upgrade the old stocker carb. It was leaking in many places and I was getting about 12-13 mpg so it hurt quite a bit to drive it. Picked up a weber 32-26 off craigslist. Came with redline adapters and all. Slapped it on the other day and hosed it up and damn if it didn't start right away! I was stunned completely how easy this was. All I had to do really was plug up all the old vacuum lines and hook up the gas. Amazing! (Oh, I also adjusted the mixture and idle but hey, that's pretty standard) I'm already loving the difference and rock solid idle at 850 rpm. Cant wait to see mpg numbers. all in all, pretty good for 100 bucks! peas

I loved the 32/36 on my '89 2WD 22R ... it really wakes up if you do headers now (not that you needed my help to spend your money )

sounds like the header is the way to go. where did you guys get yours? thanks for the input! I tuned it even more today and it's just so dang easy. soon (after I fine tune the ignition) I'll have a purring little kitten instead of a grumpy bobcat. Still goes great.

Mine was a Pacesetter, and a piece of crap. The Thorley tri-y is the way to go IMHO.

I have a timing light if you need one!

thanks guys, I'll keep my eyes out for the tri y. I'm using the manometer method of timing and it works great. Jumped up 5mpg last week after tuning. holy crap! loving the extra pickup and less stressful starting.
