Smile 1st Annual CoTTORA Off Road Swap Meet

Well folks, we did it! The first annual CoTTORA Swap Meet drew roughly 150 people and several major vendors. We ate well, got sunburnt, bartered and traded, and showed a lot of people a good time!
Officially, the club broke even in regards to profit. We were able to sell some Cottora T-Shirts and give away some awesome prizes. Temperatures reached triple digits, but that didn't discourage people from attending and having a good time, including people from Colorado4X4.org and Yotatech.
I really have to represent our sponsors, who donated some incredible prizes...Big thanks to Armorology, ToyTec Lifts, Tanner 4X4, 4Wheel Parts, CARQUEST Filters by WIX, and All Phase OffRoad. Thank you to all the vendors who came by and made our show look respectable. And thank you to the Toyota FJ Trail Team, which gave out some awesome freebies and brought some fine looking rigs.

Thanks to Tenille and Kacey and everybody else who washed trucks. They washed about 14 of them, out in the triple digit temperatures, and they looked great...(the trucks and the girls).
And thanks to all the club members who attended and who helped with setup and operations throughout the day. Thanks Mike out of Colorado Springs and his bro for helping out with the setup in the morning. Thanks Dave for running the raffle table despite a mean hangover. Thanks to Molly, Troy, Vinnie, Loren, and Doug @ ToyTec Lifts for help w/setup, and thanks to the JeffCo Fairgrounds people who were very helpful. And a welcome goes out to all the new club members who attended, like Micah and his new 2006 Tacoma. Stay tuned for a trail run

Here's something funny. This is how the swap meet got started, with this post by Tat2dguy01 on March 31:
how 'bout a get together/bbq/swapmeet sometime this summer...
someplace everyone can just hang out for the day and bring all the spare parts they have laying around in the garage and trade/sell.
bbq/band/beer/and of course bs

Check out the rest of the thread at http://www.tacomaterritory.com/forum...ad.php?t=31596.
It's hilarious to watch the thing slowly develop into the huge event that took place yesterday.

And finally, much thanks goes to Will and Rich, who were on top of things the whole time. Good job guys, you deserve recognition.

Everyone did awesome. I know that without all the people that volunteered(and some that were asked) that this event couldn't have been as good as it was. I know that thru the day people came up and said hey this is great, and wow what an awesome job. That recognition doesn't go to just any one person but to all of you that showed up to help! lol ok now lets start planning for next years event!

i'm slackin'...still recovering actually. you folks made this gig a success!!! big, big props to Loren and Rich for keeping everyone from starving, Vinny, Molly and Troy for the "gate" work, our fearless spokesman Jeremy....Dave, Tenille and the rest of the folks that helped out on the raffle and carwash and of course Layton....who now has been initiated into "Will and Daves adventures with Jager" club. (i'm actually suprised he is still alive). if i have left anyone out, it is not on purpose but the fact that i think i left my mind in the last bar we were at. thanx to all the sponsers, especially the FJ team to whom i owe an apology for not being able to pour myself outta bed to attend the run on sunday. ALL u guys totally rock and i am at your disposal if there is EVER anything u need. i will try to get my pics up in the next day or so. till we meet again, be safe and drink more Jager!

I don't like the idea. Did you see the Rising Sun ad in 4WDTO magazine? Took up a whole damn page. I think we can do just fine ourselves and keep our identity. I want people to think of CoTTORA when they think of the swap meet. I think next year we should def get more participation from CO4X4.org and yotatech.com though. just my opinion.

hey....just got a call from Debra at Jeffco fairgrounds. appearantly we left one of our signs on the corner of 6th and the frontage rd that goes to the fairgrounds. is there anyone that lives in the area that can pick that up? other than that she said we are straight. just another annoyance! someone let me know. otherwise i can try to get over there this weekend.

I forgot the sign. intentionally. I'd tell 'em to furk off if I were you Will. They can't keep the deposit because of that sign.

It is pretty funny that we had two clubs organizing a rally and didn't get together on it. Looks like you had a great turnout.

The 1st annual (hopefully) Rising Sun Rally is August 20th at the Jeffco 6th ave stadiums. The Jeffco fairgrounds were booked when we called. Everyone is welcome to attend. You can never have too many Toyota trucks

Awesome! The high-lift was donated by 4WheelParts. Good people there. Thanks for coming, and be sure to make our Club Picnic in August.
