Highway to Hell

I have a new favorite trail. HOLY CRAP this trail kicks some ass! It has potential for MAJOR carnage. Making it through relatively unscathed is an absolutely amazing feeling. This trail took me to a new understanding of my truck and all I got to say is SUPER FREAKING WEEEEEEEE! ! ! ! !

Here are a few pics from later in the trail, early on had some great photo op areas but it seemed folks (me too) were more interested in watching everyone than taking pics. I hope that I can find some pics from others that were on the trip as there was some amazing obstacles through out the trail.

Cool deal Mike. I like the last pic. That fall is an interesting one. And Bob went wheeling? Could it be true? I should have brought out Lil' Blackie for another attempt at the firehole!

And who broke the D44 joint? Could it be Mike........... or Eric............?

Bob, went shotgun. I broke my 30 year old stock shortside parts. Next time out, both sides will have the AlloyUSA chromo's and their x-joints installed. The stock stuff took some abuse before I killed them.

Full width, yes sorta. Eric and I are both running 78/79 Ford Bronco high pinion dana 44 front axles. They are not as wide as 60's, but wider than the old school broncos and trucks. The front wms is about 65" and I am 81" outside lug to outside lug and I believe Eric is 83". I am also running the 9" rear from the same Bronco and it has about a 64" wms with the disc brake conversion.

Get your junk done so we can go wheel.

different trail knucklehead!!!! (I was talking to miller about firehole)

...........I wouldn't have needed a strap later on H2H if I hadn't tried to climb that ledge at a 45 degree angle when the rear slipped into the hole.........I'll never forget the look on Carlos' face when I tried to back up and almost went over! followed by and then "you might need a strap"

That fall can get ya if you don't watch out.

Hey Mike, lets hit UW and give you another shot at the Firehole. Plus Lil' Blackie needs another shot at it

I had problems on that fall just before the squeeze towards the end of the trail.........I tried to climb it from the right going left up the ledge and the rear slipped into the hole when it was starting to climb.......I got hung on my passenger link and wedged into the crack on top of the ledge......I tried to back out of it but the hole truck started to unload off the ledge like a slinky so I jammed it back into drive and pinned it into the wedge before it did go over.

1 little tug from Carlos and it came right up...........then I proceeded to put on a "GIT SOME" show on the next ledge.........i think that's where I twisted and crinkled my rear driveshaft a little!

I Break for Rocks.

Oh, I'll be back at Firehole. I just didn't want to hold the whole group up while I attempted to keep giving it some.

I was trying to decide if you would go over or not, and then it was like oh oh here he goes testing the cage.

Huh, that really is a funny noise that comes from his truck when he tries to "Get some!". Seems to me I remember his truck making that same funny sound on this trail http://rides.webshots.com/video/3070539680048043617
Just in case you were wondering how it should sound Eric, here is a quick reminder http://rides.webshots.com/video/3011410790048043617
