Hey TBob, here's what I'm gonna do with 15" shocks... max them out

Like every year, me and a couple buddies from school go up to my parent's place in Pinedale and go out and watch the Snowflake Whiplash race and then do some wheeling. Here's the pics from the weekend, which would be the first/shakedown run on Mike's rig and my rig since their builds that were sort-of completed Friday right before we loaded them on the trailer. All in all, a great weekend with no real problems and put alot of miles and 4wd time on the rigs. Might not be exciting pics, but here they are, maybe they can help you think thoughts of cool weather.

Figured I better get a pic first thing Saturday morning before we headed out cause who knows what was going to happen

Made it out to the races, so that was good for step 1, shot from the back

Flexing the rig out for the first time to check everything out

Flexes WAY more than I though it would, actually pulled the front driveshaft apart

Mike flexing his rig

Mmmmmmmmmmmm 4-link

Another shot

Later Saturday we took some FR roads in a loop from our place towards Lons Canyon and went to Lons Spring

Next day playing around and wrapped the axle too much trying a climb and broke a rear u-joint

More playing around

Sunday afternoon we took a few other roads in less traveled canyons and found this spot to play in, here's Mike

Another

One more

And me

Again

A little ways up the trail taking a break

Monday we headed out to Mortesen Wash and played around, here's the whole crew, right to left, Mike, me, my Dad and his Willys, Brian in the 4-Runner, and Chad in the TJ

Poser shot

Cruisin up the wash

Mike cruisin

More playing around

From there was headed back towards a different area next to Lons Canyon, really green up there

Pile of crap

Bob's hattin' again. The front is maxed out in the flex pic from in the V-notch. The rear since they are triangulated would almost be inpossible to max out. And it's 15.5" travel BTW

Not hatin' - looks great!! but I don't believe that front shock is maxed at 15"
I'll bring my tape next time we run.

Just to give you a comparison, you can't see the top of the shock, and the body length of the shock(just the body, not the eye on the end is 19.25" long). The tucked side is totally bottomed out and smashing the bumpstop and shock bushings. They might not be totally maxed in the pic because when I pulled forward from there, it went a little more down and that's when the front driveshaft pulled apart and when the tire started to lift off the ground.
