I saw that on the other board. Are you guys working on a plan to remove the FJ?

Don't know about the removal. What forum was talking about it. There is a ton of stuff that needs to be removed around there.

I meant the other board you posted the pics on. Where was it? How far from the road? The area looks pretty trashed in the pic you posted.

Let us know if there is a plan to extract it. I can help, and have a little experience in this field. SHould be an easy recovery as well since its not upside down in a canyon!

It was sitting about 3 miles out the 4 peaks road. This area really needs a full clean up. There is another car and a lot more trash at nearby shooting spots. It sounds like there is some interest for a trash pickup day out there.
Have either of you organized one before? I assume contacting the forest service or blm would be the place to start to get permission to do a clean up?

Need to get the vin and notify the police first. It's most likely been reported stolen and you don't want to be in posession of it w/o permission. They'll tell you how to get a recovery paper for it, so it can be drug out. Also you'll need to notify whoever is in charge of that area (BLM, forest dept, State Trust, whoever), and make sure they are aware that a clean up is gonna happen. They will most likely be able to provide a ph# for a wrecking/towing service to haul the thing to their impound area at no chrage to the clean up crew. Keep us posted.

Yep, thats Steve or EL Vota on yotatech. He just finished swapping a 3.4 into it. Man it flies for what it is!
We did the loop around. Very rutted out, but most could make it no problem. The dent is attributed to lack of patience, being sick as a dog and not being focused and a bad line.

I'm setting up a clean up for next month. Stay tuned for details. The appropriate authorities have been notified.
Thank you for offering your support. It should be a fun day of cleaning up and meeting others!

Talking

Well, this has done it for me. I want to do my part to make this area a little cleaner like it used to be.
February 9th I'll be out there cleaning up. RacerOffroad.com will be giving away a $150 gift certificate to one lucky helper.
The Forest Service will provide the bags and pick them up from the front of Four Peaks Rd and the Beeline (87)
Anyone want to join me to fill a bag or two? I'll be there all day.
