4 Peaks; Post cleanup run

After the festivities at teh highly successful cleanup at 4 peaks started and organized by SOAZ. BOVADS and I went up top to play around since I had never been up there. We left CU base camp about 4 and headed up, there was alot of water crossings as alot of the washes were running which was a great sight to see. We got up on top and there was a great view of smog laden Phoenix metro but I didn't take any pics of that mess. teh Peaks had some snow on them on teh northern slopes that we could see.

We took multiple turnoffs and i believe we were on the 422 when we came around a corner to see this;

and some of this

we continued down the road to see more snow then we turn onto a narrow (Due to over growth) 2 track that BOVADS had been on before and said there was a killer campin spot down there so we headed down, more snow as this trail was anorther facing slope. We got down to where it levelled a little and teh creek had taken over the road so BOVADS tried to get out of teh creek without his paddle, lack of front locker and teh fact that teh mud was like quicksand didn't help here;

I too got sunk trying to get him out so I winched myself out and went around to get BOVADS out frontwards. We hung out here for a few to see if there was a way to get accross, we weren't gonna try as it was starting to get pretty late by now so we turned and headed back out.

BOVADS has more pics of this "quicksand" area.

And a view of 4peaks on teh way out. we got down to CU basecamp to pick BOVADS trailer and headed home, got home about 9:30-10. No carnage but some snow and mud/quicksand and a great time.

You mean this one However, if I don't listen and shop for linens on a perfectly beautiful day, I won't get any of these and I will be doing a lot of this

Yeah, that is what I said too. In all fairness, she is not an outdoor type person, so coming out to the desert to dig through the rocks, bushes, and catus to pick up other peoples gabage was a big comittment. I was pretty proud of her, and she had a great time and enjoyed meeting you guys.

we need to get her out on these mellow scenic type of runs to meet and meet teh other girlies and hopefully she'll start to enjoy it?

Cristina doesn't GAS about teh rocks but loves teh scenic trails.

Disc breaks kid....... I don't think your rear diff got as far in the water as mine did......

I remember when I had drums in washington i had to change the breaks every 6 months..... i don't like the mud either.

So that was Bovads trailer. I was worried that someone got so excited they accidentally left it until I saw that it was at least locked up.
I almost saw you guys. I got down from the mountain at about 8.
