'89 exhaust manifolds on 1987 toyota

I was wondering... this guy wants to buy my stock exhaust manifolds but is unsure if they will fit his 1987 toyota 4x4. Also, I have a v6, he has a 4cyl. My senses say "NO" but there is always that chance.... he just needs to pass smog. and stuff which is why he wants to go back to stock for a while.

Okay, let's be logical here. A guy with 4 cylinders wants your 6 cylinder exhaust manifold.

4 on one side 6 on the other

4 6


NO

A honda 4 cylinder exhaust manifold will not fit on a toyota 4 cylinder motor....so why would any 6 cyl fit on a 4 cyl?

THe holes have to line up exactly....so only like motors can swap exhaust manifolds. For example 88 an 89 4cylinders can share, as well as 88 and 89 6cylinders can share....but 4 and 6 cylinders will never share stuff like that.

i dont know if he was being serious or not.... but damn, my sister can tell a car part from a v6 wont work on a 4 cyl...... and my sister cant even change her own wiper blades......

Well, I never really looked at an exhaust system or even worked on one, hence the question. The guy wasnt sure either so I just figured I would ask.

And no, I am not that mechanically inclined yet, I am still working on it. I just got into this whole car/truck/offroad scene and I am still learning, hence again my questions about such "trivial" matters such as an exhaust system.

I am glad that your sister can tell the difference, I must say that is a record breaker and more power to her.

Sorry dude,

No offense, but it is a pretty basic one. From the moment air and fuel enter the block to the moment they meet the exhaust manifold and leave through the exhause......each cylinder is treated seperately.
