what the "fj" in fj cruiser stands for

so me and a friend had a convo over the weekend about my FJ.. he asked what FJ stood for.. i had no idea..??
then he said... f**k jeeps?

i couldnt help but laugh

Just the model number, doesn't stand for anything as far as I know. Supposed to be a throwback reference to the original FJ40.

Note: there was also a LandCruiser designated the BJ ...

i know there were old fj40's and stuff...

but i didnt know if there was an actual meaning/symbolism or not.. and he came out and was a smarta$$ lol

It has to do with the VIN... Troys right, its based off the FJ40 Land Cruiser. But the FJ itself didn't stop there... there's an array of numbers according to era of Land Cruiser. I used to want axles off an FJ80
