C I'm gona figure something out cause I'm gona drive this thing almost daily. Would it look too goofy w/just 33s? Worn out 35s are what's in the photos.

Anyway I got busy on the front bumper. Ingredients are: 8" of 6x6x5/16 angle, 3' of 2x3/16 flat stock, 8' of 1-3/4 DOM tube, 2' of 1-1/4 HERW tube and a $36 winch plate from Summit. Should be pretty light. The minimalist design. I know it's not sayin much but I think it's some of my better work HA. Remember 'Sturdy, not necessarily purty'.

Holy cow I had a successful search experience. Christian & Derek here is what I found.

http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/4runner/brakes/

Based on this info I think I'll try a 1/2 ton Blazer MC. It seems Rockstomper is going under. They have no brake parts/adaptors available or anything else for that matter, Guess we gotta make our own? Or what?

I've changed stock MCs & added the 2# residual valve to the front brakes & a QUART's worth of bleedin ............ still mush!!!! So I ordered the nice machined aluminum GM MC adaptor & fittings from LowRange since they said it would work on an early non ABS Tacoma & Sky said it wouldn't. Same $. We'll see.

Well I finally made some progress with brakes. The 1/2 ton Blazer MC with the Low Range adaptor works. I have a great firm pedal now. I did have to cut the supplied connecting rod down to about 13/16". But it's aluminum so that mod was very easy. I have not done panic stops to see if I need a propo valve yet but hey I'm just glad to have brakes!

OK we figured out the high idle. After many beers and standing around TR for the umpteenth time pokin it with sticks & kickin dirt. Ted, a mechanic buddy says 'this was caused by something somebody did to it'. Bubba says 'looks like the vaccume hoses are wrongly routed compared to this pic in the Haynes book'. Turns out, the vaccume lines to the ADD system were abandoned incorrectly? Ted figured the right way out quickly and voila the end of a year long mystery. So encouraged, progress should follow...

Beasleyis closed till atleast April 1. But Yeah! Soon!

I drove TR to the gas station this morning ... first time on the highway. Old Tacos are truley amazing. The dang thing drives great, straight, tight, no rattles? Hats off to Marshall, Alan, Bubba, Andy, Colin, the Bauer Brothers & anybody else who made this unlikely scenerio pan out.

I guess it's time to channel the xmember & make this thing 4WD!

Considering renaming this project now also ...

Ed, my brakes went out on me. So I'm all for your setup. http://www.sky-manufacturing.com/new...uct.php?id=216
This is the adapter right? Did you get the fitting? Did you get the MC too or was it cheaper to get that from a local part store?
