It Runs!

well i got home today and decided to swap out the battery for a new one in the old truck. after a few hits of the key it cranked and even started. it seems to be running the same way as the day i dunked it but now it sounds like shit. i flushed the oil a few times the day i took it to Carl's but i think letting it sit that long may have caused some other problems. going to look into the fluids better when i have more light, do another flush or two and see if it sounds better. if not i am going to have to pull the pan and see if the bottom end is shot!

Good to hear sounds promising, but define "shit". A buddy of mine hydrolocked an engine and when it finally refired you could DEFINATELY tell it broke something.

nothing broke, we cleared the water before we started it back up the day we dunked it. i just don't think the previous flushes got enough of the water out and now it has sat for 9 months.

I've been hearing alot of good stuff about auto rx on BITOG. Might help clean out some rust, sludge etc left after the water and sitting so long.

did some more investigating yesterday and got the bearing whine narrowed down to alternator. going to replace it and start flushing everything out. after that's finished i'll have to start testing MAF and other sensors to figure what's shorted.

Sounds like he needs to adjust his priorities.

1. Truck
2. Bro's
3. Ho's
4. Food
5. Water

You get the point...

the way he does things......it more like:

1. Subie
2. Food (especially spicy chili)
3. Females
4. Snob Creek....i mean Knob Creek
5. Truck

maybe he'll chime in here and set the record straight.

sorry man got to get the DD going again. i did spend the wifes x-mas money on a new alternator so i do have some of the priorities right. also we would have to drop the drive shaft and tow it over there, so i think Jason' would be a closer alternative.
