February Meeting discussion

It is time to have another meeting. January has slipped by without us having one, and there are a few issues that need discussing.

My only concern is how and where to schedule a meeting to get the optimal attendance.

Please discuss, no idea too small or too trivial (that may mean the same but you know what I mean)

there has been some interest in having a Feb. run, which im not opposed to THAT much, but i really dont like wheeling in the absolutely freezing cold weather. I would, however, be agreeable to riding with some of our newer folk and lending a hand/being obnoxious and screaming like a little girl at the scary parts.

.....any Lafayette members wanna chime in here?

I am talking more about a meeting more than a run. But we do need both.

I also being from the South have my "druthers" to wheeling in the frozen stuff.
In fact right now my truck is stuck in the driveway…still busted!

I don't mind the ice and snow, I just don't like the idea of what can't be seen under it!

when I used to hike in snow covered mountains in New Mexico, it was easy to really twist up a knee just because you could not know what was buried in the snow.

What about talking to one of the local shops to see if they would be interested in hosting us and showing off some of their products and work. i could talk to Carl at Outback Off-Road and see if he would be interested. just give me an idea of when you guys like to get together.

thanks for the offer. I have talked to Carl in the past, so he is aware that we exist.

I always encourage our members to spread the word and solicite sponsorship. If you would like to discuss this idea further let me know.

In the meantime, I don't recall receiving an email from you to let me know you were interested in the group. which is not a big deal. I just like to welcome all our new members. I look forward to meeting upwith you.

Start a new thread in this section to say Hi, and introduce yourself if you like.

oh! okay Dustin, I remember now, I am so sorry, hopefully you can understand.

Sounds like you are working around the racers again (haven't checked out your link yet)

so how are things? are you going to be able to join us on a few more runs this upcoming year?

how about the weekend of the 23/24? also for the location, Gander Mountain in Greenwood has a large log cabin conference room that i think is free of really cheap to rent. it would be a decently central location for most members.

Its up to everyone on where we meet, but generally we have met where food is involved. As for the dates, that might work.

We will put something together in the next few days.

I am not saying it is a bad idea(Dustin's) , I just rather hold the meeting in a more "relaxed" environment.

I did not realize those dates were over a weekend when I sent you the pm. so disregard about the times. If we need to we can hold it earlier in the day to get everyone home at a decent hour.

You would think it was spelled that way, but it is not. It is with a K.

It is on the way to work so I will get actual spelling and address tomorrow. as well as a mapquest map

I think the owners may also spell it with z in there somewhere as well. I know the first time I saw the place, I remember thinking "what the hell does that spell? I actually had to phonically pronounce it to realize what it spelled out.

It's a "barstuarant"

typically I see many hot rods and custom bikes in the parking lot in the warmer months, it is somewhat more of just a "hang out" I am sure they sell adult beverages.
