Arrow Truck wont idle when warm starting

After I have been running the truck and the engine is up to temp if I turn the truck on ,say to get gas or something really fast, when I turn the truck back on it wont idle and will actually stall if I don't give it any gas. I have found though that if I blip the throttle up to at least 3500rpm it will fix itself and idle. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for the help

Check if it is affected by your AC being on. Set the level at anything but the two windshield settings, because your AC will come on automatically on either of these two settings, or turn the fan off completely. If the issue resolves itself when the AC is not running, it is probably your AC idle up circuit.

No it happens with the ac off. I also recently found if I just hold the idle up to about 2k for 30 seconds it will usually fix itself. It doesn't happen all the time but atleast 1 out of 5 times I am starting with the engine warm

Have you tried cleaning the throttle body yet? Sounds like the IAC might be getting a little gummed up or a passage way.

Winner! It sounds like your IAC (idle air control) valve is getting stuck. Time to clean the throttle body and the IAC thoroughly.

OK.... it appears as if I am having the similar issues with my truck.

Having an automatic trans is a bit different to diagnose in that my lifting of the throttle pedal between shifts doesn't do a thing, just stays where the rpm's were until it shifts.

My problem is the constant changing of the rpm's at idle. A quick stab of the pedal will let it come to the actual set idle, but if I don't do that, it will stay over 1000 rpm's.

Decelerating is becoming a problem too.

Some of you mentioned cleaning the IAC & throttle body.... I just ran a bottle of Lucas fuel injector cleaner through my fuel system... wonder if it could be that?

Any thoughts guys?

What did you clean the parts with and where did you get them?
