Red Rock Canyon

Join us as we explore the treasures hidden along Last Chance Canyon! This area offers everything to the expedition wheeler! The terrain is suitable for all off-road vehicles. It's full of California Gold Mining history which will be a part of our weekend.

Prerunner/Stock 4x4: You will be traveling from HWY 14 and visiting sites along the way to Bonanza Gulch and Burro Schmidt's Tunnel. Minimum requirements are 2wd, 31" AT/MT tires, skid plates and recovery points.

Difficult/Hard: You will be taking Last Chance Canyon up to the Dutch and Holly Cleanser Mines. There are plenty of optional lines to make this run as difficult as you want it to be. Minimum requirements are a moderate lift, 32" AT/MT tires, a locker, skid plates and recovery points.

Camping: Camping is permitted. Gathering wood for campfires is limited to dead and down materials. Live vegetation can not be cut. Help BLM preserve California's fragile deserts. Please park your vehicle and set up camp in previously disturbed sites.

This is in a remote part of the desert. Please pack accordingly. Bring extra fuel, water and food. Our campsite is on a "first come, first serve" basis. It consists of cabins which are kept up only by the people who choose to stay there.

Practice "Leave No Trace" principles. Plan ahead. Pack It In Pack It Out. Properly dispose of what you can't pack out. Leave what you find.

Looks like we are out for camping.

Gosh this looks like so much fun. I swear that more local groups should do their own versions of these and make it a sort of initiation into the forum or something. It could really turn out to be a big thing for us to really get our cars out there and see what they can do!
Yes the Last Chance Canyon run is always fun. Not a real difficult run but some good exploring and a lot of history. So Cal TTORA is the group to go with.
