Talking Ammo Can small parts organizer tray.

I saw this on Cheaper Than Dirt.com

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ZAA074-1.html
Only thing is the price at $20 for three trays.
Kinda high...and it does not include the ammo can.

Anyone have tried this?
I thought it may make a great storage device for any misc parts we may need on the trail.

If the trays were made of metal I would pay twice that amount for them. I like the idea and may get a set. Thanks for the post.

Very cool! I just bought a a couple of these .50 cal cans at a garage sale for $5 for both. These organizers would be great but I would agree that they are over priced for plastic. Guess with them being the only ones that have these, they can charge a premium.

Those are nice, but I think I have more "big" spare parts than little stuff. I don't think most of it would fit in those trays. I could think of a bunch of other reasons to use them though!

Agreed. I think those trays would be good for something like.. spare bolts, spare electrical connectors.. hose clamps.. yada..

But I've got other shit I need to spend my money on other then some plastic shit to put in my ammo can..

My thoughts too... before I saw the price, when I saw these I was thinking of using them as a small parts bin for my garage.
Right now, all my hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, etc) are in smaller boxes inside a big tote... then stored in my LISTA cabinet.
I am tired of pulling out the big tote and start digging for the correct size.
My tools are 5-S'ed, but my small parts are not.
I guess the search will continue.

I picked up a tray organizer from home depot and hung it on the wall. All my nuts and bolts are organized by size and thread pitch. Thats what finally helped me from getting away from my "box o bolts"!

Yeah I thought of that one too. I have a location I want to place my small parts bin.
Good location and easy access.
So the size I need is limited.
I been looking at Durham bin pull out drawers.
Either something like this...

or...

Two requirements - covered and transportable to the work site.
The one on the top - I can remove the drawer.
The one on the bottom - I can carry a full tray.
The bad - not cheap... but not extremely expensive either.
