In the beginning...

anyone remember the pioneer crawler toys...
...before the RC crawler market/tech race ?

Nylint (FunCo. MFG) crawlers from Wally World (1/6:scale)

Still have these... good shape...
wonder if they're a collector item yet ?

i totally remember those!!!

and i remember the craze that had people selling them on the rc crawler sites for more than they were worth!

hahahah

there were also so many people taking them apart to put hobby grade electronics in them too...

Nope sure don't...
seems the manufacturer (FunCo) was irritated,
because of how their product was being labeled/marketed/sold as a toy

and no that is not hearsay... but me on the LL with the dickshits

Only way your likely to find these for sale... is used
or get lucky finding a rare NOS collecting dust somewhere
there a couple RC forums that have/had a following...
^they'd likely be helpful in searching for parts and tech

just saying... 'cause... I doubt FunCo would help

I have two I'll sell you
mostly 'cause my son has grown... and I'm getting older
so they'll never likely get used again

they're a little scuffed up from normal use (primarily the lower scuff plates)...
The scuff plates protect the bottom side of the drive housing(s)...
these operate as they did new... that I will assure

^ just got done testing them and cleaning them up some...
was gonna put them back in their original boxes
edit * well shit... I guess I did shit can the boxes
well never mind that then

They both also have the axle upgrade that replaced a plastic
axle drive with a metal unit.

btw !... you don't want one of these
if it only has the original plastic axle drive !
it'll last a coupla' fun times... and then break

'was thinking of listing them on ebay
only I don't like ebay so much these days

what are you looking to get for one of them, and what kind of run time do they have on a single charge.

I'd probably offer sale @ $ 70.00 for the Jeep bodied unit...
and $ 80.00 for the Scorpion bodied unit. (rarer body style)
they're exactly the same... 'cept body styles
of course that wouldn't include shipping costs

But then... I really don't want to separate the pair

sooo... how about... $ 140 for both (less shipping)
you could use the extra for spare parts... or sell it
and make some of your money back.

Shipping is likely around $ 25. each in the 48 (but guessing)

^ I think they'll sell quick on ebay @ $ 140 for two...

oh and don't get these confused with the 1/18th scale Nylints
Not even close to the same thing...

ebay currently has a listing for a Nylint 1/6 scale on a buy it now/make offer
for $ 159.00

so I think two for less then that... is purdy fair

these operate on a 12 volt battery
purdy much what you might see in the kids power wheels thingys

I'm not sure how long they run... quite some time I believe...
but I never ran them down all the way to know

I know they last at least several hours...

only drag... they require a long charge period...
which is unlike current fast charge batteries.
The 12V battery is a gel type so it's sealed
Replacements can be found at most hobby stores
^used primarily for nitro starter boxes...
and airplane chit.

these are not in need of anything...

'cept two fresh 9v batteries for the controllers
and someone that wants to play with them

But keep in mind... they are used
and so... have the normal scuffs and marks associated with use.

Ive been looking into rc cars a little more the past couple days and i think i would have more fun with something that goes fast rather than something that crawls. and plus im in no financial state to throw that kind of money on a toy right now.

the pioneers of rc crawling were guys ripping clods and other 4x4s apart, using t-cases/trannys from whatever, making tube frames etc and then lots of ppl started catching on and kits started coming out etc.there were a few rc crawlers b4 those nylint junk piles.i owned one nylint for awhile just because i could beat the shit out of it and not give a damn, it was ok but got hung up on anything really challenging with its whopping one inch ground clearance.lol.great for kids but dont expect any real world performance out of them

I have two in my closet I found. I think my brother has one too. they had their own section on rccrawler for a while too. I even wired up mag lite led conversion kits to the head lights for functional bright head lights, But my losi mini is a much better preforming machine. Havent used that one in a while either.

All of the beadlock rings on these things would rip off and the best mod was to do a tummy tuck. The batterys are freaking huge and were actually the same battery that came on my friend pocket rocket. Remember those
