I have broken 2 different 5125 eyelets on the right rear side of my truck. I broke the first one a few years back, and I just broke another one the other day. I was under the impression you could use them on stock height trucks? I am assuming it is bottoming out and breaking the eyelet. Any ideas?
I might have to do that. Just not sure how others have put these on and not broken them and I have broken 2? I know they are on the correct side. Maybe I should go with the shorter one on the passenger side?
I would assume that if you're breaking the shock from bottoming out you would kill the seals and leak out the fluid long before you break an eyelet off.
if overextended than shocks are too short...doubtful, however, with stock rear suspension. Put the truck up on a rack allowing the suspension to fully extend. If the shocks are the limiting factor then yes, too short. If not...
