Great time On the Fourche Mountain Trail

We spent all day riding the Fourche Mountain Trail and had an absolute blast, the trail was in pretty good shape and the water low enough to safely make all the crossings. It was a beautiful day and we ran into about a dozen or so other machines on the mountain. The trail runs about 26 miles through the mountains and ends at the top of buck knob mountain; it is a pretty steep and challenging trail, so you have to be careful; I wouldn't suggest riding it alone.

That looks like fun!

Just figured out what I'd like to do next time out.

PM any info if you would please (exact location, owners to pay land access fees to, etc.).............off to research for myself too.

Looks like some of the bad ass trails around Talimena, ok

Stupid google (or me - lol) - can't get you a link directly to where it is. Follow hwy 1 to the right from the marker in that link. If zoomed in enough You'll find Talimena state park. Could get lost for days out there.

The Fourche Mountain Trail is in the Ouachita National Forest and is free to ride; here is a link to the directions to get to it.

There is also Wolf Pen Gap just East of Mena; they do charge a small day fee to ride there and it's not quite as remote an area. They still have very steep and rugged trails, but the odds of laying on a mountain for four days until a search party finds you are a lot less. Like I said, don't ride Fourche Mountain alone and be sure to print off the map on the site.
