Nitto Terra Grappler Vs. BF Goodrich All Terrain

Which is your experience or opinion do you guys think is better to run? i have looked around and have only really found sales pitches and nothing that compares the two different companies.

I've had both. IMO, I'd go with the Nittos. They're cheaper, will last longer, and, do to my experience and others, the BFG's will chop real bad if you don't keep them rotated religiously... They are both great tires for A/T's, but if I had to buy another set, I'd go with the nittos....

nitto terra grappers. I have had both and the terra grapplers performed way better.

I rotated my BFG's once in 85K. They were all worn exactly evenly. I gave them to a buddy maybe a little more than 2 years ago. He has put around 10K on them and is still using them. He has an f150, and they still have usable tread. I have had 2 sets of BFG's, 1 M/T and 1 A/T. For some reason they last extremely long for me. I had the M/T's on two trucks they lasted so long. I have taken then off in favor of swampers, but they still have usable tread and they are at probably 65-70Kmi. I took them off because I had a big cut in one of them and it blew.

I personally have only seen mud grapplers in the mud and off-road. They impressed me. The only thing that I dont like about them is that everyone and their grandma with 22's is running them. I havent ever seen the terra grapps off-road though.

Ive had 2 sets of BFG ATs and Ive had good luck with em. Im thinking of changing to the terra grapplers for the price though.

For the price... I'd go with the terra grapplers.. If price wasn't an option, ProComp Xtreme A/T's

Tundra-->35's--->IFS--->Armor--->Stuff

IFS--->D60, one of these days....

I ran BFG k/o's on my 2000 Tacoma. Tried the Nittos, and I have used them on ALL my trucks. Blow the BFG's away.

'07 Quad cab Pre runner v-6, TSB rear leafs w/ AAL and Icon 2.5" remote resi's, Icon Ext. 2.5" Co's and TC UCA's, 32" Cooper Zeon LTZ A/T's.

Try the Toyo Open Country AT's. Similiar tread pattern, harder compound, deeper siping, and made in the same factory. Just also a good tire with almost identical offroad characteristics.

2002 Dcab, 33" Toyo Open Country AT's on FJ80 rims, full OME suspension, 1" body lift, TRD Exhaust, SC, and Trans cooler, ARB Bullbar, SleeOffroad sliders, future is gears, front locker and cbi Fab rear bumper

Working at a shop ,I see lots of tires and how they wear on the street. I made a choice based on what I've seen.
I have been running the Nittos, with no problem going anywhere the Bfg a/t's go
They Wear Well Across all tread=30k on mine nice and Quiet
All the bfgs I've noticed the center tread Gone with lots of side treads left.
They Air down great ..They Also DRIFT on the street with predictable handling!!
Even rolled 'em in the mud......ok.not the best
I see No difference but the Hype and price.

I just sold my Nitto T/G. Absolutely horrible in the rain and only marginal in the snow. No feedback on offroad/dirt. 285-60-18 glad they are. Giving the Revo's a try in a 265-75-16.

Interesting, I just swapped TG's onto my Taco, from 32" Mud Terrains and they're amazing. Rain traction is great, they're quiet, and run smooth.

That's never good. I've had an opposite issue with mine. My BFG MT KM's at 70% tread, rotated every 5K would not balance, turned out to be an issue in the tire construction. My Terra Grapplers have been perfect.

i guess the main reason i went back to bfg's was due to the fact that nitto doesn't make float size tires in a "C" load range. the metric "D" load TG's make for a rough ride on trucks our size, imho.

I know I'm comparing different tires. But my D-range TG's ride as well or better than my C-range BFG MT's.

Now if you went with a 10 ply E-range, that's way overkill.

They DID have a 15" wheel size, and I had them on my 96 Taco in 35x12.50's. I actually went to get more and got into an argument with the tire place when they told me they don't exist in a 15" wheel size. I told him that I HAD them on my truck before, and sure enough, after research, I learned they discontinued that size when they started making tires for bigger rims (i.e. 24's and 26's...)
