4.88... if it were a SAS i'd say go 5.29s. I installed 5.29s in a SAS i did for a customer, and they work very well with his 37 mtrs. You won't have all of the extra weight that a SAS has, so you can get away with 4.88s.

Depends on how much wheeling/freeway use you'll have. Since you are still IFS, I don't think you really have to worry about exploding your gears on the trails (just CVs), so I'd say 5.29's since you have an auto. If you do a lot of freeway driving, go with the 4.88 (better gas mileage).

I'm pretty sure........it's extremly bad to wheel an IFS truck with over 35" tires. There is way to high of an angle on the cv's and you'll break them going up your driveway in 4Lo. lol.

It's not necessarily going to be the angles of the cv's that are going to cause breakage. I'd say it's going to be the enormous amount of extra weight from the 37" boggers

You guys don't have any faith! The tacoma ifs is a lot stronger than you guys think it is. My roommate (joshs4x4toyz) had a black 98 ext. cab 2.7 with a little over 12 inches of lift on his IFS. Ran 38X15.5's, wheeled the piss out of it and handled it like a champ. The only thing that didn't hold up was the radiator from a night of tree killing in field. Of course, that is just one example, but saying that I have seen 38's on IFS in action makes me feel obliged to disagree.
