Mass Airflow Sensor

If i don't disconnect the MAS before i install a K&N FIPK 2, will that matter? What does the MAS do in the first place?

That's MAF meter, as in Mass Air Flow. It measures the incoming air volume and adjusts the pulse width of the fuel injectors.

While it's more complicated than this, the basic idea is that as more air comes in, more fuel goes in, to keep the air-fuel ratio somewhere near 14.7, or the stochiometric value to achieve the best performance.

Besides the fact that the K&N won't do squat for your truck, you should disconnect the MAF and set it aside while fussing with the air inlet tube. Once you know how the tube will set, reinstall the MAF and reconnect it.

Make sense, at all?

I love to buy my parts from

I had mine on for 24hours and then took it back, yes you have to disconnect it since you will be using the K&Ns inlet tube, you take it off of yours and plug it in to theirs.
