Tacome towing question.

I have a 2004 Dbl Cab tacoma 4x4 with the 3.4L. Will this pull a regular sized ski nautique boat alright? I have never towed anything with it yet so i was curious. Thanx for all input.

What in the hell is "regular" size?

If this boat is much more than about 3,000 lbs, I'd say no.

I would guess those are around 3000lbs, so as long as you're not regularly towing it 500 miles, you'll be fine. My boat is around 4000lbs and it's manageable as long as I stay away from the big hills.

Hummer, eh? Yeah, that might work better.

It's not a problem of the Tacoma being able to yank the boat up hill, it's more a matter of the Taco being able to stop it's own weight plus the boat and trailer, and I don't think a boat that small would necessitate a trailer with brakes.

I think those boats are heavier than 3000 lbs. They sure are sweet though!

Regular sized Ski sneak is 20' and roughly 3200lb loaded. I used to pull mine up and down the East coast no problem with my 99 Tacoma. The mountains were a little slow going, and if you dont have trailer brakes you might want to keep the speed down and think about what your doing while driving.
Invest in an aftermarket tranny cooler and you should be good to go.

Thankfully, I pull a 3000lb boat/trailer just a few miles each way with my 3.4 Doublecab. I always disengage the overdrive, and it still feels like that motor oil commercial where they are towing a large anchor down the freeway.

I pull a bass boat that weighs around 3000lbs (including trailer) with my 2002 4x4 Double Cab 3.4L. It pulls ok around town until I get to the hills. Now I have installed 4.56 gears for better towing performance. It made a big difference!!!

I ahve a 18' Sea Ray and I pulled it with a 600lb fatsack in it. I'm guessing it wieghs almost 3000 with the trailer and It's in a very hilly area. It pulls it fine and it brakes fine. Use the tranny as well as the brakes and give yourself space. You'll be fine.
