More lift no money, little experience

Hi, I have 1998 Taco. It has a 2" performance accessories BL, combined with a procomp 2" spacer/aal kit. It am running 32" BFG mudders. I want to put 33's on my truck but they rub right now. Rather than mickey mousing to find a proper rim size i want to put one more inch of suspension on it. I have been looking at Donahoe 3" coil kit and their progressive leaf pack, but my budget just got KO'd. Now I am leaning toward a 3" cornfed kit with the diff drop. I have some manual hubs on the way, so the cv angles should not be an issue, especially with a diff drop. Any of you out there have any suggestions on running this kind of set up. I would prefer to take the body lift off and go with a straight six, but the BL was the biggest pain I have had to deal with on this truck, so i don't think I want to mess with it.

with 4" of lift you shouldn't rub at all with 32s. what rims and backspacing do you have?
you can easily run 33x10.50s on OE rims with what you have now.

My problem is that I already have access to a set of 33 x 12.50 and they are practically brand new, so it don't want to buy new tires if I don't have to. Not sure on the backspacing, my rims are the ones that came with the truck when I bought it. American racing Atlas' 15x 8

I have a 99 Taco w/ a PA 3" running 34x10.50 SS's on factory wheels and only rub at full lock...nothing a 1/4" wheel spacer won't fix..

Oh and your atlas wheels either have 3 3/4 or 4 1/2 backspacing by american racing website

If you are rubbing 32s with a 4" lift your rims have the wrong backspacing. Throwing 33x12.50s on the same rims w/o another 2" or so of lift will only make things worse.

I'll bet they are 4.5", that would explain the problem.

I tried one of those SSs when I first got my truck and I thought it looked dorky I only had about a 2" lift so the thing wouldn't even turn.

Sorry, I haven't been very clear. My 32's don't rub, I threw the 33's on with what I have and they rubbed. My 32's clear just fine. Sorry for the misunderstanding. That's what I am wondering, it I add an inch will i clear 33's. I've noticed it is hard to ever be content with your truck.

Ahh, where is the rubbing and how bad? If you ain't rubbin' a little you're not trying hard enough

Not clearing fender. Would rather not cut them. Is my solution just to get new rims?

I haven't done enough hardcore wheeling to rub when it matters, but daily driving i only rub if I am turning into a driveway at a hundred miles an hour

not necessarily. Some guys still rub with the 12.50s who have 6" of lift. In general, you need around 5" of lift and rims with 3.25" of bs to keep from rubbing much. Even then you'll rub under the right circumstances, especially when aired down.

to keep the tires off the back portion of the inner fender or "pinchweld" area you will have to cut the plastic and pound that pinchweld; that's they way it goes. (pinchweld mod)

to keep the tires off the frame in turns the rims must have the right bs. 3.75-3.25" seems to be the most popular backspacing for 33x12.50s on 8" rims.

not a pain at all and very easy/quick to do. just search "pinchweld mod" for varrious writeups.
