I know this subject has come up before, and there was a thread with a bunch of pictures in it. However, after searching, I think that thread was on the old board. I need to put approximately 5 switches in my truck for various lights. The area under the radio will be my future housing for my air pressure gauge and locker switch, so that area is off limits. My truck is a regular cab with a bench seat, so I have no center console to use. I want to put these switches in a spot that is easily accessible. I've seen the multiple switch boxes, but I'm not sure where to mount one. For those that have multiple switches in your truck, could you please post a pic or describe the location of your switches? I thought about mounting them on the side of the shifter console, but with so many wires and switches, I didn't know what the clearance would be like with the shifter.
i haven't put any switches in my truck yet but i installed 6, i think, in my old civic for various lighting, and i just utilized any bare space i could find on an existing panel ... since you already have plans for the center dash ... maybe you could consider installing the wanted switches in the door panel ... scope it out and see what you think ...
I put 6 switch's in the dash on the passenger side between the air bag and glove box... Just looking around one day and took out the glove box(2 screws) looked up and between the glove box and airbag there is about a 4"x12" peice of dash(Its not part of the airbag or anything to do with it) with nothing back there. There is plenty of room for all the switches and wire's.
I marked all my locations out then heated the dash with my heat gun and used a razor knife with new blade(s) and cut it. It cut like butter and looks A+++. Every one who see's it ask if it came from the factory like that. Its really clean looking.
I will look and see if I have a pic to post.
Is your truck a manual or auto? doesn't really matter. I've got a bench seat w/5-speed. With the seat where I need it to reach the clutch I've got about 2.5 - 3" between the back of the factory "half-console" and in front of the bench. If I were mounting switches (I will be eventually), thats where I'd put them.
That's similar to what I was thinking, but I was thinking more along the lines of mounting them in that console, instead of on the outside like you have. Clearance issues with the shifter was my concern with that though.

That space crossed my mind this morning, but wasn't sure about the air bag. If you come acrossed a pic of it, I'd love to see it. If you can't post it here, just email it to me. nees1212@yahoo.com

On my 95 I put them to the right on the driver side speaker under the dash, work great and if your worried about hitting them accidently put the "cool" missle toggle covers on them.
