I am down for this run. Sounds like fun, wish we'd have gone last year. Guess we should be thinking about signing up soon.

I'll be at the Ramble. It's a good event. Usually has something for everyone. My 9 yr old son & I have attended the last 2 years. It's a blast...camping, wheeling, grilling, spending time w/o TV!!!

86 or 40 ... that's a really good question. Probably the 86. The 40 is gonna' need some close attention to some basic stuff (clutch, brakes, & steering/suspension). Besides w/ a new set of tires in the budget, some proper tube doors (via Git), a pair of bucket seats, and a welded rear diff ... it's gonna' be a new place for the OldTruck Racing (OTR) crew. I would love to bring the 40, but it would be very iffy on the trail. Spring is busy season for me & I won't have any time to work on it.

hey you did some 3's with me last year with a stock truck on 235/75/15's i think your do fine

Glen, you're right I did some 3's with you, but it wasn't until after we pulled out that I realized where we had been. Fortunately for me, they were more like 2.9's than 3.9's ... But like I said, I didn't know what difference having the rear diff welded up would do for my truck's ability.
I'm looking forward to the Ramble and wheeling in general. I really wish the rain would ease up so the farmers in NE Ark could finish planting.

I just registered for the Ramble. Be sure to register before the 15th, cause after that, and the price goes up $10. That 10 bucks you save could buy you 2.74 gallons of gas :explode:

Sorry guys, I meant to pop this yesterday for the "last day" warning...but didn't happen.
Last day ends in 30 minutes. Just did my registration. I got a RV camping spot reserved and now it's a matter of getting some rig stuff done. Let's see, doors (and maybe bumper) from Gittinit, 31" or 32" tires from lowest bidder, donor seat from Honda Passport, change the oil, oh yea, and my yard pass.

What a great weekend! The heat and humidity made the days hot, and the nights muggy, but we sucked it up and wheeled like we stole 'em.

No carnage, other than a 30 some odd year old radiator hose, which lead to a head gasket. Sorry Brent, at least you got an easy motor to work on. Those 2F's are super simple.

Anyways... Pictures!!

Brent and his FJ40. A cherry poppin' trip for both truck and owner. All that hard work (disc brake conversion, Aussie locker) paid off as this thing went where it was pointed. :kewl:

Hey Josh,
Those are some good pictures. I have a few of other folks wheeling as well. I'll try to post next week. I have to say it was as good as always, heat & humidity or not. Unfortunately, I didn't do as good in the raffle this year. I wheeled w/ some of the MS & TX folks on Friday, that was a hoot. Hopefully more later, but it's too late now.
