What kind of tetris do I have to play with my starter on a 1998 Taco to get it out of the engine bay? I got it disconnected, unbolted from the engine, and took the ride plates off, but now I cant figure out the special way to get it out. Any special chants I have to murmur? Any help would be awesome...

Thanks!

Auto or manual?

If you slightly tweak the steering rack lines it will come out. If you unbolt the brake line (hard line) it will come out the right wheel well (after removing the rubbers). Auto has to go the fender well way.

Thats my only problem with toyotas, you have to be some kind of special midget or something to get the parts out and reach in there.

Yeah my smaller hands came in handy when changing Troy's starter last year. Man what a PITA those things are!
