Its a freshly built early EFI 460 in the tow rig with a whole lotta new, most everything.
I heard it run, bought it for a screaming deal, took it home, pulled the motor, re-built- now just working out all the gremlins. Runs and drives great, other than a random miss here and there. Seems to be running a bit rich
Im getting a long list of codes- A few that Im at a bit of loss for-
Been taking the easy route jumping wires to pull codes off the dash CEL, maybe that the prob?
- Pip circuit failure
- Failure in ECA internal voltage
- HEGO swithcing detached--- Pretty sure all grounds are good, no new O2 sensor yet
- Fuel pump secondary circuit fail- ECA to ground. HA, maybe my grounds are not so good

Any help would be great!

I don't know much about Fords since the 80's since they keep outdating all the stuff they use. Sorry to jack this but if you know much about early ford vacuum systems I really need some help.

Hey Chris,

Matt Goosman (screen-name mgoose or something like that) know a Ford Tech. Or was it Chalkie?

Let's see if one of those two pipes up about this!

Una worked in a Ford dealership for a time... I think she worked on 'em....but I can't confirm whether she was a "tech". Maybe if she ever swings by COTTORA again, she'll chime in.

man, i have rebuilt a lot of ford motors but all of them pre efi.

I dont think i will be much help, as i have never pulled a code on anything and i dont know some of the lingo you are reffering to.

Have you checked the timing at all? is it advanced or retarded? Although it sounds like it is electrical.
A ground wire could be frayed or not properly attached.
Is the fuel pump pulling enough/too much power?

I will see what my dad says he has an efi Bronco that he has built up and made run like a champ, and he is really good with a wrench and trrouble shooting.

Also you might head over to FSB forums a few of them have big arse motors.

Good luck man!

Thanks everyone, hopefully someone that knows Ferd will chime in.
If anyone knows the language, please post up

Mythica- Yap, timming seems good!?! Set it a 10deg BTDC with Fords "spout connector" disconnected, slapped the spout back in and the computer takes it from there. I may try advancing it a bit and see what happens. Its an over .30 all stock build. I did slap headers and a full 3.5" exhaust [stock cat and high flow muffler] on it. Maybe there isnt enough back pressure for the O2 sensor to get a correct reading? Gonna try a new O2...
I already replaced and/or tripple checked all grounds on the motor side
New fuel pumps. Havent checked volts to them yet to be sure--- It just hit me what the pump code may be, I tried starting it the other day with the damn dual tank switch disconnected, bet thats it for that code. Cleared all codes, we'll see what it comes up with next ;)
Anyway, thanks for the ideas and yes please let me know if come up with anything.
Ill hit up the Bronco forum too

Damn Ford! I should have dropped a 454 in it LOL

I have not had a Ford in a while and the biggest engine I ever had was the 351. One thing though, at least you can get a Haynes or Chilton manual for it. Good investment if you do not have one already.

From what I know, most every sensor on the 351 is the same on the 460 of likewise years.
Yap, have a crappy Chilton's and access to AllDataPro. Just cant grasp some if it I guess!?!
