Welcome to TTORA, been following your build on DR, I love single cabs so it's cool to see you building one, looks good, hope you have no problems getting that engine built back up

already got a new crank and all the bearings for it. GOnna hone the block, put the new pistons on the connecting rods, throw the new bearings in it and put her back together. Should only be out for a week or so, just enough time to weld up the engine cage/firewall and paint everything up.

well got almost everything up front suspension and cage wise tied up except mounting bumps. Also plated up the frame where I notched it to fit the coilover, and I was tired of the rust so I cleaned it up and painted everything and got the firewall all done so I can put the engine back in. here's a couple pics.

Tire arrangement is different. It might be a little hard to grab the second tire, but it looks good. You gonna strap em or have a clamp system? Is that the angle the fuel cell is going to be at? If so how many gallons are you not going to be able to fill?
1400yota

basically done, just needs straps, bumps and bedside mounts. fuel cell is flat just fell in the pics.

Just fell?!! I still think you should mount it on the upper link! That way all the gas mixing will create pressure and make it easier on the fuel pump.

Told you I would. But its okay cause it was only a little white lie hahah. When you going to test the truck? We just got back from running the taco at the dunes. We went through the whoops near the beach a few times and ended up burning the napa clutch. We should be getting a newer stronger one soon.

I moved and forgot about this forum honestly, It'll be back together in a couple weeks and good as new. I want to sell this front end and my fuel cell, and i'm gonna get a racer-x 41 gal cell and centermount the front, along with a new bigger engine eventually, but that will probably never happen.

got the truck finally all back together and running with a couple upgrades. Gonna be testing at pismo next weekend and the one after that then i'll be racing the november 8th MDR race. Just gotta get some new springs up front and out back and a quick revalve between trips and it'll be good to go.

Yeah I broke at the race, and both limit straps are stretched close to an inch which caused a bunch of neg camber at droop and WAYYYY too much bumpsteer, so I'm gonna get some dual quad wrapped straps and then it should be good, and some .250 wall upper control arms.

How else do you test under true race conditions?:D
Both of you could probably finish races if you were to baby it around the course, driving just to finish, but apparently it isn't your style.
They hand out a shit lot of finisher's pins at the end but few first place trophies. I know, I have a box full of finisher's pins from desert racing:p:D

Pismo went good, got some time off work before school to finish up some small things and it'll be ready to go. Also the last barstow race was the first trip to the desert with the truck and the first race, so there will be bugs to work out, that's for sure. the next time should go better if the motor last's that long.
