Well, I got home to california safely...went through moab, bryce canyon, zion nat. park, and las vegas. day after i got home started workin on the truck...so far this is what I have done:
1.) mounted 3 hella 500's with 130W bulbs (not as easy as I thought it would be)
http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x16/xcntryrunr001/IMG00323.jpg
2.)mounted sway-bar relocators (easier than I thought would be) no more squeek! yey..and smoother ride!
http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x16/xcntryrunr001/IMG00324.jpg
3.)made 2 bed bars that move back and forth (pics coming soon)
4.)changed out the old fog lamps with some super bright hella's (you can see them in the first pic)
5.)trimmed some of the wheel well (no more rubbing!)
lots coming soon!

Black looks way better. Did that to mine, I kinda hated the whole aluminum flake thing with rusted out edges.

Just a little hint. Not to tell a guy his business. But I used to paint wheels on the floor like that to. Then an old guy showed me to paint the wheels on the truck while they're spinning. Just put the truck on jackstands like you had it, put it in 4lo, and spray. If you're unlocked you might have to spin the other wheels. Sooo much easier though.
Your truck looks excellent by the way.

What happens when you get spray paint all over your rotors?

Would like to do this to my wheels, what's the best primer and paint to use? Don't want paint just coming off

Such a minimal amount it doesn't effect the brakes. Hit the brakes once and it cleans them off just like new.

anything will work, paint work is about the prep more than the paint
scuff the surface with red scotch brite, clean with soap/water, id personally use dupont self etching primer, then whatever paint you want.
Trucks looking good :) I still need to find the extra cash to buy me a set of those wheels

looks sweet. I think I've painted about 6 sets of wheels black now. Just love it! I use the rustoleum enamel series. Prep surface, 2 light coats primer, 2 matte black, then 2 coats of semigloss clearcoat. Gives it a little more protection and the enamel series gets "very hard" after a week or so. Sure it takes longer, but what the hey, it's got staying power. Great job, and your oher mods look sweet!

the moment you all have been waiting for has now come! the rack is complete! It holds a lotta stuff:
1.) 2 gas cans (not shown but they will sit on either side of the rack towards the cab.
2.)High-lift (will be in the empty rubber holders)
3.)shovel
4.)axe
5.)CO2
6.)2 Bikes
7.)CB Mount (quick dissconnects)
8.)reverse lights (not wired in yet but will have a quick disconnect to the bed of the truck)
9.)luggage! (2 levels of luggage storage)
I can still use my tie down cleats. The whole thing moves backwards and forwards. It can be easily taken off when camping. I can still use my kayak rack (the kayak sits on top of the cab and above the rack). It isn't too heavy but is super strong.

This took me a long ass time to make. 4 days of cutting welding and grinding..not to mention getting high of paint fumes twice (on accident haha). This is by far the biggest project I have completed and most well built. This thing is very very strong.

nice looking rack..
God I'm glad I left Cali, your comments about everything being quick disconnect reminds me of how nice it is to live someplace where I can park my truck with highlifts etc in the back and go grocery shopping without having to worry about what's going to be left when I come out.

yep i feel the same. I bought a hi-lift in CO and threw it in the bed of my truck and it stayed there for about three months and i still have it. most of the time it was parked in the CSU parking lot.. and still was fine.

Looks great! Only one concern - a full CO2 bottle seems kinda heavy for one QuickFist ... maybe if you had a little "tray" that the bottle sat in would be better.

x2. Those tanks will kill someone if they fall off, and knock the valve off. Just need the tray.

Taco4life, I dig that rack!! I would love to do something like that inside my topper. Have a good secure place to mount stuff.
I can't believe no one "borrowed" your hi-lift while parked in the dorm lot. Back in the day, when I was still at school, someone "borrowed" all the attachments of my Yak rack (bike mounts, snowboard mounts, and windscreen) late one evening. Now everything I own has a lock.

Yup, black double cab, ARB front bumper. I have a colorado4x4.org sticker, along with an "FW" and a couple native american symbol stickers.
