so I went to check out Dakan road today and I must say it wasn't what I expected. I've done plenty of 4wheeling In my day but i'm still somewhat new to the area and new to the trails and rating system. On traildamage.com its supposed to have a high rating of 4 and I thought it would be just a little bit more difficult than it was. There was only one section that some stock 4x4's probably couldn't do without some scrapeage (i.e. the Jeep that came up behind me). Overall it was a very nice trail ride and i'll probably do it again and camp up there as well, now I have a little bit better Idea of where they are at with there rating. Below are a few pics from the one obstacle I played around on.

that's a loat smoother than it was last year. but all-is-all it's a very easy run that i've done in both directions in 2WD. but it does have a few great scenic spots in it.

dakan is easy unless we get alot of rain and it gets washed out. I bring my 2wd up that trail just about every year.

Yeah, the whole thing would have easily been done in 2wheel drive until I came to the little man made "obstacle" that I decided to play around on. I'm headed up to the girlfriends cabin in clear creek county this weekend so i'll probably hit some of those trails, thinking red elephant hill.

the area where we were doing poser group shots had some rocks on it. I was in a hurry when I was leaving but that seemed like it would need 4wd, the sherriffs stock tahoes were having a little difficulty in 4wd. Althought maybe easier in certain directions:2cents:

if you just swing wide there a 2wd toyota pickup has no trouble in either direction.

That spot you were playing is the reason I've seen that it's rated a 4. Fatty's right, the curve next to the rock pile would probably require 4wd.

Yeah, the 4 wheel drives the Sheriffs have aren't nearly as capable as they should be... Don't ask me how I know that :neener:
