Well we made it back! A little tired and a little sore but grateful we had a team like Donahoe to lead us in and out of Baja with out too much damage!

I didn't drive (thankful I didn't) I rode with Kreg Donahoe, Dylan Evans from Donahoe and drew from True performance (out of san Luis). The weekend started in Ensanda, the first day was spent doing the section near the ocean. All I can say is WOW! Beautiful country side right next to the water! We passed little fishing villages and did some nice winding roads thru the hills! It was an awesome day!

The next day Kreg thought we would enjoy the more technical section of the trail! Some hill climbs, rocky paths and water crossings. 100miles of that! And I don't think anyone didn't feel a little sore the next day!

I think we all have a little more respect for the Baja 500 now! I think we all had a blast and I can't wait to do it again!

I want thank Donahoe for inviting TTORA to BAJA! Kreg mentioned it might do this every year so if you missed this one there is always next year!

Thank you Dylan for the ride and waiting to break your truck after we got out of there!

Thanks for the ride in your "SICK" Tacoma, Andrew that thing is bad ass! You just need some 35's now!

BIG Thanks to Dan Hernandez for not getting us sent to Jail Saturday night! Smooooth talker!

By the way if anyone thinks the 05 Tacoma is still a soft truck, I can attest to it's durability from this weekend! Kreg drove it pretty hard and it held its own! I was pretty impressed with its capabilities! Its power on those back roads was awesome!

Thank again to the guys from DONAHOE!

It was a RIP!!!! And, MEGA PROPS for Bling Taco...AKA "Stripper ass on my face taco!!!!" Dan kept the rock crusher RIGHT THERE, the whole way. Straight axle and 37's. I am really impressed with the depth of his driving. That truck must have fought him the whole way, but it did not break anything major, and he was actually in his element for a while, as there was some pretty tore up trail sections. And, when things were not correct on his truck, he had them fixed in only two beers....20 minutes. Really impressive, and FUN!!!!

Like Jason said, thanks to everyone over at Donahoe for putting this together. This was by far the best run I've ever been on and it looks like my damage was kept to a minimum. It was worth going for the food alone. Every time I get hungry I want a lobster burrito now. Kreg, I'll try to get those pictures to you later this week.

Anybody having pics from this event, please let me know. I'd like to compile a nice selection of pics and add them to the SoCal photo gallery. (www.ttora-socal.com/gallery (http://www.ttora-socal.com/gallery))
If somebody needs a place to host the pics, I've got that covered. Just give me a shout and I'll set you up.

Thanks paul..........Ron and I had a great time, didn't quite know what to expect, and only seeing pics in mags and the Dust to Glory movie, it was still on our minds "Are we getting in over our heads?" ;) It was definitely a test of driving skill to keep a "relatively" comfortable ride in a straight axle but keep up with everyone, not to mention driving through everyone's dust at speeds somewhat higher than you'd expect. I took some major diggers off some woops, ..............and then said "wooops" but overall, the bling taco took care of us and got us through just a few seconds behind. Carnage included one loose rear hangar bolt. ( and some ass all over my face).
Great idea for the trip, and look for bling taco #2 in a few years with an $800 entrance fee ;) Also, was thinking of driving down to watch the 500 1st weekend of June if anyone wants to tag along...

So what do you guys think...Should this be an annual event? You guys all did a great job getting your trucks around. I was stoked how well the new 05 Tacoma worked. It was our first real off-road beating session less shock testing and it did AWSOME. Toyota absolulty did not go backwards with this new truck. We got some great ideas for some new products for that truck as well. YOu cant beat Baja as a test bed.

Shoot, I'm gonna open a Toyota parts dept. down there before hand...I'll be rich, I tell ya! Oops, no I won't. I will be my own best customer. Better I buy a bar down there instead! Yes Kreg, an annual event should be the deal. I can't wait for the 1000. Not to mention, I want to take you down to a few spots to fish and test parts. Make our own seafood cocktails!!!

count me in. what about doing a different race every year. IE, run the san felipe 250 next year, or primm.....i think seeing the different terrain at each round would be awesome too.
