View Full Version : CB external speaker

So I Got my CB in and mounted it below my deck in the second din but then I relized that it is hard to here the internal speaker in there. I was thinking about taking my front drivers side speaker and using it as an external speaker by disconnecting it from the deck. Would that work or should I get another speaker? Has anyone one done this?

did the same thing for a co-worker, it was strait forward enough. the only important factor is how much you like your music because you are taking a decent loss in sound quality and seer volume, but if that is no concer to you then i wouldn't worry about adding another speaker.

I like my tunes in stereo when Im wheelin' :D
I bought a cheap external CB speaker, ran the wires under the carpet to my driver seat, and mounted the speaker between the head rest risers. Crap thinking of it now, I have mazda 626 seats in my Taco... Dont recall if stock taco seats have an adjustable head rest for mounting to???

Taco seat headrests are adjustable. X2 on the cheepy external speaker vs stealing a stereo speaker. Radio Shack has them for like $15.

I got an external speaker and PA horn for my CB for under $30 combined. both well worth it. easier-n-hell to install both.

what kind of PA speaker did you use an where did you get it i was thinking about puting in one

So the internal speaker is louder then I expected so all is good don't need to steal a speaker or add another one. Just looking for a PA horn now
