What's the background behind the question?

The reason I ask is that the elocker won't fit in the non-TRD housing, so most people swap a complete TRD axle, including the brakes and all...

The shafts are the same. 30 spline. It is also an 8" diff, but not the same as older and TRD 8" diffs. The two different diffs are not compatible, and cannot be interchanged with housings.

As troy said, the only way this is going to work is if you are trying to put an elocker into an empty elocker housing and reuse your old axle shafts.

The elocker will in no way fit into the non-trd housing.

actually it will...

look at russ's (vwfast60g's) truck, then again, thats also pre-taco

Actually it won't.

Russ's truck is mini truck/hilux.

I should have been more specific, but non-trd refers ONLY to 95.5 and up in my post, since TRD was not an option on earlier model toy pick ups.

The OP can use the earlier housings, but will need to run wheel spacers.

Well here the deal behind the question. I can pick up a elocker 3rd but have a non trd tacoma. I can pick up a trd housing but it doesn't have axle shafts so I was wondering if I could use my non trd axle shafts.

I have a similar situation, did this work? I'm getting a "no it wont" on other forums. Hopefully they swap right over.

I think so but don't know for sure. Pm hytenor on the national board. I am sure he knows.
