I am wondering how much interest there is for shirts for the ttora crowd. I would like to have a tee or two to show my arkansas pride. My wife is working a second job at a local place that does screen printing. They are running a summer special right now and I can get some shirts done for cheap if I get a minimun of about 30 shirts ordered. I can get shirts with single color prints for $7.00 a shirt up two XL. XXL and larger will cost 1 dollar more at $8.00 a shirt.
I don't have anything in mind yet but the more simple the design the easier it will be o get it done. Show me what yall have in mind and I will see what I can do.
I think there has been something posted here already about intrests in having shirts done for this septembers events. If there is enough interest I will see about doing what I can for that too.
If there is enough interest I will post up a paypal link and gather funds for an order. Thanks!:)

I was going to call a place BJ suggested tomorrow but this is better
:woot:
something like the takeover t shirts but obviously with Ar TTORA on them, the same as the sticker we have
with a list of sponsors maybe on the back
we will need smalls, mediums, large, XL XXL AND XXXL (i know of about 3 that need XXXL)

I would be interested in one even though I'm not a member. I would need the xxxtra fat size though. I was kinda ticked off last year at the TAC event at Flatnasty when I selected and paid for that size shirt and then they didn't have that size available.

Awesome! We definitely will be doing shirts for our September event.
Right now, I'm thinking...
1. AR-TTORA logo on front
2. TEQ logo on sleeve
3. Pic. of a truck crawling a rock on back. Sponsor logos along bottom of image.
As for the truck pic, I'd really like something kinda artsy and faded or rustic looking. Maybe a PB Rocker tire on a rock or something like that.

We may have to "strike a pose" on our wheeling trip, and try to create a good picture. I don't think people would mind wearing a Taco, or a First Gen, or a Cruiser on their backs.

Keep in mind if The pic is to detailed the prices will likely increase dramatically. The takeover shirts from the last central takeover were printed simmilarly with trucks in white on a brown tee, the tires are clearly bfg crawalers and the tower thingy is in the background. They were able to get plenty of detail with just the one color, enough to tell what is what, but only that. I belive this is how they kept cost down. I would like to stick with the KISS method on this!
Lets see some ideas!

I'm in for T-shirts. I'm in the XL crowd and but want 2 shirts ... one XL & one small (co-pilot Colton).
The only thing I'd ask is ... let's not do the white. I can get a white T-shirt dirty waiting in line at a funeral home. I'd pay the extra $1 for a "not white" shirt. The Razorback Land Cruiser club had been doing a khaki color for past couple yrs, this year they did burnt orange. I'm all about something in the retro' look. A faded blue-green or faded red. (But, let's not do the Arkansas Hog red either!!!)
As for the picture ... I'd go w/ a 1st generation, that falls somewhere in between the Taco's and a Land Cruiser.

I too vote no on the pockets, but I'm shure I can get ya a shirt with a pocket if you want to pay the difference. I can get the best deal if I just submit a simple desighn, with no add ons. I considered the Idea of having shirts made with little tagnames like "president", "vicepresident, or" "secretary" Just above the breast of the tee, but that would complicate things as well.
We are a club with xx members and are still new and small in comparison to most. As we grow into a larger group of toyota fanatics things like the above could be more managable, becouse the orders would be large enough to justify a few special shirts.
I started this tread as a feeler to kinda scope out the intrest and such. I can tell the interest is there, but now I just need to move on to a design. I will try and spend a little while searching for options to submit to ya all. After a few options have been chosen I will get some definate pricing (should be almost exactly what I posted earlier) and set some orders, collect some money, bla, bla
Keep the input coming!

Nice I like the whole thing every detail. Your truck is perfect as a model of sorts for our club as well. Yall want me to get prices on what it will cost to get this exact shirt done? I think it would make great for an "event" shirt, what with the sponsors and all that.
I still want to make a simple ARTTORA shirt to just represent our club, ya know something cheap, so I can wear one each day of the week. :D

Gray
dark Tan

Well after talking with my wife about this particular desighn I have run into 2 complications.
1 the sponsors logos need to be Black/grey/white as well as the truck.
This is nesciscarry to help keep cost down. I would rather have a simple desighn on 2 shirts than a complicated design on one. If yall would rather have the multiple colors, the place I'm working with will do one offs, just send me a pm with the pic/size/color details, and I will get a price for ya.
2 The buisness owner will have to have written approval in order to not infringe on copyrights.
The second of these issues are easily overcome, and with a simple phone call and a fax, everything can be overcome with the copyright issues. The owner of the screenprinters is responsable for doing this, but ,it is still a problem to overcome. If one of the sponsors isnt willing to release their copyright for this use, then they will have to be left off the shirt.

Just my :2cents: on the event shirts. First, have we decided if we are going to charge to attend the event? Since we are going to include t-shirts and a meal, I believe we should come up with a reasonable "entrance" fee. Second, if we are going to make an event shirt to give away, then lets not cut corners just to get the cheapest shirt we can find. I think there can be a happy medium we can reach where we can balance something really cool, yet not go overboard.

If we are going to have sponsors logos on the shirts, then I think we should keep those logos the correct color. What would be the price difference for keeping those the way they are supposed to be? I like the single color truck and ar-ttora logo, but we shouldn't skimp on the sponsors...

i agree with Lance and Aaron, we cant "modify" the sponsors logo to save a buck
Lance, i was thinking $25 this would cover the tshirt, and meal, and/or raffle tickets
this would keep the cost of the event at $75 since BJ is only charging attendee's $50 for all 3 days, including a park membership
or we can take the $75 and pay BJ then :dunno: (yes he said we could do that)

How much did dinner cost per person last year? I figure it couldn't have been much more than $7 a person or so, right? Do we have an approximate cost for tshirts? I'd like to keep the extra cost at $20 without raffle tickets or $25 with them. That doesn't mean I wouldn't pay the extra couple bucks for a better looking shirt though.

Well if everyone agrees about keeping the color on the sponsors logos, then we will already be paying for the colors. Why not go ahead with the origonal desighn, minus the shoulder thingy? I think the black and white looks good, but the full color image looks so much more real. If we put it all on a color tshirt itl look great. We wouldneed a t shirt color that dosent clash with the red on Josh's truck though.

Back to the dinner question. I can't remember how many people we fed, Glen, do you remember. I do know that Roland's is a little pricey. We paid close to $350 for everything (brisket, beans, potato salad and I think iced tea.) There is a new Whole Hog in Hot Springs, so we can add them to the mix and compare prices.
T-shirt wise, I like the black and white picture (so it won't clash with green or tan). After going and looking at the t-shirts from the Texas events I've been to, the sponsor logos were not full color. They were done in whatever color the shirt was printed in. For instance the Halloween run was a black shirt, with orange print.

I'm mostly just conscerned with making a final design choice. He won't have an issue getting the shirts done in time, but I need to allow him a few (atleast 3) weeks couse they are running about that far out on orders. Josh, you won't be responsible to call. Its the printers responsability. Even if we have consent forms, he will still want to call first hand to take care of that. He takes the copyright infringement laws verry seriously, but he should he has alot at stake.
Oh yea I was tooking at my takeover shirt where they had the sponsors on the back. They just kinda listed them and changed the color....Mabye they got around the copyright stuff, by doing that. I :dunno: its just a thought.

Ok I got some rough prices today. I will be spending some time friday trying to talk to someone about the art and see about finalizing the details.
Version 2 -if we could just use the 3 colors, black, white, and grey for everyting including the sponsors logos
sm-xl= 9.50 ea add 1 dollor for each size increase with a xxl being10.50, and xxxl being 11.50 and so on.
version 3 are the full color version, and the prices I got varied by number of colors, including shades of colors, so this gets a little complicated. I may have to brighten or dim the shades of red, yellow, and so on to get the best deal. I think with what colors I have broken it down too I can get the color versions done with about six colors, which totals the price up to about 13.00 each up to xl with 1$ for each aditional size, same as above.
So what yall think so far? Is it still a good deal?

Well I droped off the pics at the screenprinters today, and their artist is gonna mod them into a version fit for their machines. I should hear back in about a week. Some of the detail may go, but I will post up what he comes up with in order to get feedback. This does stall the final pricing.
Everything seems great but one thing.... the sponsors logos.
Glen or someone, could yall do the legwork for the sponsors. He said if he has written permission for him to use the logos on the shirts the only issue would be the additional detail, and colors that go with them (he is limited to 6 colors per shirt). I have a fax number for ya, I will send it pm to whoever volunteers to take care of this. I don't care enough about getting them put on to bother taking care of this part.
I need to have the money collected and the order made by the end of the month. Then we have to allow them atleast 3 weeks to get em done. I will deliver them at the event, but those of you wanting shirts who don't make the event will have to pay shipping.

Yes that includes the shirt, and I may have actually priced them high. I based those prices off of a price list my wife snagged, and when I talked to him today he acted like he could go lower. He also stated that if he gets a large enough order they get cheaper, so tell your buddies! :D

i think weve settled on the red truck image on a green or beige/tan shirt

Untill we get the example artwork form the printers I think we should keep all options open. I hope they don't loose to much detail in trying to make a screenprintable version.

I like the cartoon truck you posted Glen. Get approval and I will submit it to see if it will work. I have no idea where I'm moving too. I really had not planned to sell, and just had the FSby owner sighn in the yard. I want advertising other than that and pretty well quit trying to sell. The hunt is on for a house, with a shop here in paragould. We are looking for something newer that will gain value somewhat quickly, so that we have the option to sell when my wife graduates colledge. The real problem lies in storing all this junk, untill a place is found. There is no way we can be in another place by the time we have to be out of this one. I guess this means we will either be renting for a while, or staying with family.
No matter what I'm super excited to have this change, and bouncing with excitement about the idea of having a functional SHOP instead of working out of my tiny garage. :D

I am gonna store my extra cab at a friends shop till i get my own place. The bumper can go with it and a couple spare axles that I have to store there also. You don't have to come get it till you can, and if you want I will throw it on my trailer with my crawler till the sept event, and just bring it with me as is. Heck if everything workes out as planned I would love to get a chance to finish it.
A buddy of mine is letting me use a corner of his shop to store my "tools, and I have a large storage rack of shelves that I can stack parts on. I do have a motor or 3 that I need to put somewhere indoors, they may have to go to his shop as well. Oh man Just thinking bout this junk is overwhelming. This simple wording should release the use of these companys logos only to us ARTTORA Members. This should protect the sponsors from having their logos used for any other perposes. They can go as far as saying "for this one order", or for the "ARTTORA t-shirts only" if they are conscerned.

Forest green is the color most of us wanted for the event shirts. Most events that I've ever been to have just one shirt for the event.
People are registering for the event on the webpage, and indicating their shirt size. Are you expecting them to buy the shirt directly from you, or are we going to submit a batch order to you for the event so people can get them there?
This thread has sure gone from uncertainty, to solid plans, to confusion.

Looks good!!! Is the Landers Toyota logo on the front, or on a sleeve? Or, did we decide not to put it on the shirt?

I'd say yes. They have had plenty of time (since July 9 when I first contacted them) to let us know if they were going to sponsor or not.

I can still put them on if we need to. Just say the word and I'll fit them in.

I spoke with Kenny a few weeks ago, and he said that even if he didn't get the ok for the whole amount, that he would try and get some money to us from the money he gets to come to the event. I don't really know what that means though. But, if they were serious about sponsoring, I would think they would have gotten us the money. I think they've had plenty of time to tell us something more definitive.
I remember something that one of the Landers guys said last year, that really got to me. One of them was talking to another guy saying that they paid and sponsored for the dinner. I wanted to say "like hell you did!"
