Looks good Una. I am in the process of rebuilding my 85 and going HP 3rds as well. Mine are only going to be 4.88s with my drive train though. I'm running a full Detroit in the rear and an ARB up front still. I'm also replacing the 3" leafs with 5.5" leafs. All it takes is time and $$, eh??
I'm also hoping to be able to afford a bumper here pretty soon so I can finally put the dang winch on that's been sitting in my garage for the last year.

I'm really hoping those are retreads.
If they are, definetly keep this post updated with news on how they wear, etc...
I like the idea of retreads, but reading horror stories of semi retreads, I've been hesitant. The new truck retreads are supposed to be a lot better.

First - glad to see the first mod was COTTORA stickers!
Second - that color still looks like baby-poo :D

If they aren't.......Thats just ghetto.
I'm ok with "ghetto" since they were free. Speially since they have pretty decent tread left and otherwise are fine. They came off a running rig that went to bigger tires and wanted space in their garage.
Besides, Ill be getting new tires soon, these are to tide me over till I have the $1500 in cash to lay out.....
But hey, thanks for the props on building my rig...!
ps - retreads look prettier than that when you get them back anyways....

It was meant in jest, but whatever.

Which ones do you think are retreads (the new or the old) and how could you tell from the pix? They look used, but that's about all I picked up from the pix.
just curious

I was genuinely interested in the retreads. The ghetto comment was simply a joke, as I completely understand cheap tires. I have sent OFRD_GRL an apology in a PM, and I am sorry if it came off as mean.
Retreads are retreaded tires, and thus come with whatever carcass they used. So, if you buy retreads, you are almost guaranteed to get tires from different manufacturers. Hence why I asked, as those are missmatched tires.
OFRD_GRL got them for free, and thats great. Again, the joke that was taken as insult. My apologies again.

As Molly can attest, I have a long history of forgetting smileys and getting into trouble for it.

Well, yeah, I get what retreads are, I was curious as to how you knew they were retreads. I'll assume you saw the names on the unmounted rubber and looked at the tread and realized that one does not match the other and assumed they were retreads. I wasn't sure if there was some other clue.

i think he saw 2 diff. brand tires... and made the assumption it was ghetto ;) or re-treads since the tread pattern is near identical between the 2 brands...
shes done. gotta switch rear tires onto the "old" rims.. and other maintenance crap we found wrong with her... but shes gettin wheeled tomorrow, and tires and 3rd members are in :D

what are you watching exactly? and when can i drive over your scrap cab? LOL The build up FREAK! You can run the cab over now if you think you can get up that high. I was having fun with the truck lastnight and almost rolled it...I was on top of the accord that was stuck on the top of the dirt pile that Ryan was trying to drive off of. If the clutch would have grabbed i would have got him good on the dirt road.
I could own your cab!!!!!!
