After all my questions and asking for stupid info i did it. I just got from Scott at addicted(GREAT to deal with BTW) SAS parts, Axle, Rear lift, Sliders. ITs in and sitting on the floor of my shop. Its like Xmas!!! Waiting on front brake lines that were back ordered and didnt ship tel the beginning of the week but its cool I have to get everyone elses stuff done before i work on mine anyways.
I went with 4inch front lift and 5 rear to make up for my new 4runner looking camper shell and my sleeper/bed build and the tire rack. My frame is cut off for the bobbing so i may have to do something with shackles but from what we measured it should be JUST enough.
So list of stuff to do from now tel winter.
Clean shop(needs it badly)
Troys tail gate!!!!
2 sets of wheels to refinish( maybe a day a piece)
Sawsal blades or gas for the gas axe and to prep the axle.
CUT IT UP!
Anyone want to do some welding??? I had a friend wanting to do it but the idea of driving from FtCollins to work in a one car garage over a 2800 sqft work space with a tack welded axle and nothing to flex on seems stupid when the welder can move and i have a $100 accord RTI or big dirt pile to flex on.
I can rest a bit easier now and i plan on fitting it all to the truck with the old cab so i know what mods will be needed to make it all fit right so im not smashing new paint or trying to cut and weld on a fresh paint job...plus if its done before carnage is closed(doubtful) it would be cool to run it with some flex and sliders.
If anyone wants to help im always game and the Solid front axle is not something i can say i have taken apart before.
