As the title says I've got an 85 4runner and the idea is to keep it real low with 37" MTR's locked up front and rear with some armor and have some fun. Here is what I've done so far.

nice clean 4runner.

looks good as is, put some sliders on to save your rockers. you'll know when more triming is required.

Looks good... Im curious to see how muh rubbing you get. But I lik your idea of keeping it as low as possble though. It looks good that way... especially after relocating front axle.

Keep us updated.

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated yall but I've been stuck with a motor issue for a while now. Anway I'll get pics of the axle moved forward ASAP (4runner is at the shop right now but should have it back in the next few days). I'm not planning on bulking up the axles until I break something and hopefully it will take a while being that I don't really thrash my rig. I did put some spacers on it for a little added stability and I think it looks better.

Excellent fucking job sir :xsmokin1:.

Nice job on the fender trimming...looks clean and stock, and the width looks about perfect where it sits now.

Thanks for the complements guys. I'm running 4.88's and detroits front and rear and hopefully before long will be putting a 4.7 in the t-case.

I finally got it running good so I took it out for some pics and I'll post more pics as I start the mods.

Looks like he too some aftermarket rear leaf spring hangers and mounted them backwards on his front crossmember. That's just my guess.

wow, that's gotta suck, power wise.
at least those early runners are lighter than the Tacoma ;)

try to get a bunch of detailed pics of what all you've done...will be very helpful for those looking to do the same.
*bumpstops to limit uptravel?
*how much fender cutting (before/after shots)
*front axle placement
stuff like that.

Body or suspension? Either way i like the idea :)

LDT98
02-20-2009, 09:09 PM
Probably suspension but I might do 1" body and 1" or 2" suspension (combo)

when you do the lift look into rears up front they will move your axle up two inches (over stock) and i believe with almost a completely stock pack with maybe one leaf or so added you may be able to stick with the low stance. but you would probably want high steer.. they flex like crazy... good job by the way this thing is awesomeand how about the secret of moving the axle forward?

I don't want to "jack" LDT98's thread but do have some newb questions.

This thing looks great. :kewl:

Anyone know the tire size possibilities if keeping with IFS? I want to make mine a trail-worthy DD. The flex and clearance that LDT98 got is great. Any way to accomplish (or close) with IFS?

with ifs most people would suggest 33s and at max maybe 35s.

pretty awesome, wish more people would do it.

you measured 21" from frame to the ground wich is awesome again. im at 23" at the case with 40's.
