Hmm, I think it was about 6 hours minus an hour and half for pit stops and playing on the flex section. No breakage....somebody spent a few minutes reseating a bead.

nice, so you had dinner at the bar instead of lunch? :p

Could you get up to Horsethief basin?

How did the fire damage look?

Fixed.

I drove up their with my friend after the run. The fire damage is pretty bad but the lake is still surrounded by trees. Here's a picture of my wife and son at Horsethief Lake about a month ago:

Nice pics Mark. Thanks for posting. What a great run. I can even live with the shame of being one of two rigs who needed to be winched out of the same spot on one of the optional flexy rough spots. Thanks again to everyone for helping out. Where are we going next? I'll try not to get stuck next time. :o

Russ, the lake looks beautiful. I'm gonna have to take Melanie up there. You going back any time soon?

I don't know how soon I'll be going back now with it getting cool up there. That trip wears you out! Next time I think I'll just pitch a tent and sleep up there for the night. About it being closed: I drove up there after the run, road wasn't closed at all and people had setup camp in the area. Only thing I'd be careful about is watching the weather, you don't want to be in the wrong spot when it rains and all of the water floods down the recent burn areas. I noticed they threw some hay around to stop the erosion.

I'll prolly get up there at least once this winter, maybe more if there is some SNOW up there.... :)

I hear you. We were a little tuckered out after we got home too. I reread that you had gone up to horsetheif after the run and edited out my question from my post. Glad it is open again.

I had to clean the K&N, bend back the corner of the bellypan (which got bent up into the catalytic converter on the CK run) and take a hose to her, but now we're planning to head down to southern AZ for some camping, wheeling, and exploring some of the "sky islands" down there for a week or so. You gotta love southeastern AZ in the fall. I wonder if anyone in the Tucson area is planning on wheeling next weekend? I'd better check the boards.

Snow would be great. That would be a good reason to roll around up there this winter.

Cheers!

How did the fire damage look?

There were areas later where it had burned right next to the trail but it was not a heavy burn in that area so the big pines were still standing. This is probably the worst that you can see from the trail.
