My work owed me some money so I planned this extravagent suspension rebuild of my SFA 00 Taco. Well then my motor decided it wanted to take a dump and take the flexplate and starter with it, so heres the new plan in progress.

Well before the motor mishap, my truck was "pimped by D.O"- bobbed 13inches, Dana 44 SFA with waggy springs-14" 7100 bils-4.88, swapped in a TRD rear axle with Demello Offroad springs-10" 7100 res bils-4.88, paint is primered dark grey, Demello Offroad front and rear bumpers, sliders, welded windows (i guess payback is a bitch)...

Well now my fresh Jap t100 motor with rear dipstick and pan is in the process of getting slapped in, along with a new flexplate that was heat/cryo treated from Longfield Super Axles, my lifetime warrentied starter, new 2 row alum radiator (no mo plastic), and Rockstomper motor mounts-if they can straighten my frame mounts.
Since the tranny slipped twice out of 2nd gear, i decided to have my tranny overhauled (67k miles), and awaiting the return of my torque converter and valve body from Level 10 to help turn the larger tires, and give better low end torque for playing in the rocks. The valve body upgrade is to get rid of the slow car-like shifting (which sucks trying to rock to get unstuck in 2wd with an auto).

So while Im waiting for all of this to get done, Im trying to decide on (but we will see what happens as each mod requires a new mod to validate an even older mod) an elect fan, steel beadlocks , and tires (im pretty set on the 37" iroks).

From here the truck needs to get to Demello Offroad to put in custom length Deaver springs front and rear( :saw: attached to custom inboard front shackles, frenched rear spring mount, johnny joint rear shackle mount :welder: ), rotate my front knuckles, new 14" rear shocks (bils or MX-6).

On the side I need to get my front driveshaft still and lengthen my rear ds, cromo axles f/r, install my cable for my Rear TRD locker, install my fresh Ox Locker that just came in last week, and hopefully swap out my steering box for this used hydro-assist box and ram i got from a bud, once i rebuild it.

Shit at this rate I will never see a trail! Worst yet, i will have to keep borrowing my wifes Corolla to get to work...

I guess i thought about this too much while being over seas for over a year!

Yeah, a T100 motor has the easier ability to put the oil dip stick where it will feed into the rear oil sump, instead of chopping the existing stick (which was the original setup), but you cant tell how much oil you have. I guess as long as it touched the bottom of the chopped stick you had oil since it was the high side of the oil pan.

Its still the exact same motor, all the emission crap and electronics still bolt onto it like it were a Tacoma motor.

I just need to change my door signs from Tacoma to T100 now! ahhahaha

I have two dipsticks on my truck. The original one and the t-100 one. I just had to buy a t-100 dipstick and sleave and put it in. There is a spot for the t-100 stick on the Taco block. You just have to pull the plug thats there, Put in the o-ring and sleave and put the stick in. That's a lot easier then swapping the engine. Then again if your engine is toast then I can see why you are doing it.

and thats the only reason why i went with this motor. From what I understand not all taco motors have that side plug. I believe they stopped putting it on the later model 5vz. The company had a hard time finding a good block.

I think it was 2001 and up or something like that that didn't have the plug.

Well the truck is back and it kicks ass! The level 10 work is off the hook! I just picked up my 5-37" iroks, power tank kit and a pair of 5-760x ujoints.. waiting in line for the Demello to rotate my knuckles for a front driveshaft... what a way to come home from vegas!

Well its back in the garage again. Since the initial post, I got a front double cv driveshaft from Drivetrain Inc, 14" 7100 w/ res Bilstein shock at all four corners, Deaver front and rear leaves, rotated the knuckles, slapped in some rock lights, mounted my air tank, trimmed some fenders, and some other little maint crap.

Now its time to replace the steering box and shaft, replace the radiator, put in some extra cooling, mount my winch, mount the beadlocks (when they arrive)... still waiting to order the chromos and ujoints (yukon has long backorder), elec fan, HA pump/res, and I still havent mounted the ox locker (just realized that wont have enough room to run the cable, so will need to modify to air acutated..great more money :2cents: )... I got one month to do all of the above to get ready for the Off Road Expo. I want to show off all the work everyone has done and contributed to me.
