Pointless to use such an overly expensive material such as aluminum for a body lift.

I got 1" body spacers I'll paint silver for you! :D

Why?? Because I dont want plastic or steel. I think that answer is kinda obvious. I want a 1" lift so I can lift my drivetrain with one of bud's crossmembers.

What would you suggest for body lifts then??

Taken from http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/BodyLiftKit.shtml#Body
One concern with body lift blocks is possible electrolytic corrosion due to dissimilar metals touching. This can be a problem with aluminum blocks and the steel of the body. so a graphite paint coating is used on the aluminum blocks, so they should be fine against the body. If you want, you could cut out some plastic washers from an old plastic bottle and use that to separate the aluminum and steel if desired to prevent possible electrolytic action. The big advantage of the UHMW polyethylene body lift blocks is that they eliminate this possible problem, as polyethylene is inert and self-lubricating, so you won't even have problems with the paint wearing off the steel and causing rust as is common with extruded fiberglass blocks.

if i were to ever do a body lift it would be alum. or steel

you could figure the bolt size and the diam. size of the mounts and get some 6061 round stock that is the same id and od as your measurements and cut to length lil more involved im sure but thats the direction i would go... like showstop said... some kind of hard plastic for washers would be best to use between the metals

I bought some UHMW round stock from McMaster Carr and cut out 1" thick pieces on a miter saw then drilled a hole in the center of them. Went to the hardware store and bought some longer grade 8 bolts and nuts. Cost me about 50 bucks and has been on for about three years with no problem.

UHMW is the best way to go IMO.

x2 for 4crawler body lifts.

Aluminum is NOT strong stuff. I would be willing to bet the UHMW polyethylene is just as strong.

Good choice on the drivetrain lift - best way to get ground clearance on the early IFS IMHO

besides, the problem isn't the lift pucks cracking, it's the damn body mount area cracking! i bet aluminum would increase that possibility.
