View Full Version : Overhead Consoles
A while back I followed a thread by a member who built an overhead console from plywood and was thinking of producing it.
Later found a site in OZ that makes all manner of storage items including overheads... http://www.consoles.com.au/Toyota_Hilux97_low.htm
Anyone done something similar? Please post pics.

Isn't that like $17.39 US or a case of VB:D?

Hey, this gives me some ideas, thanks.
I want to build an overhead console to hold map lights, LCD for NAV, Cam, etc.
I was also thinking I could build it to hold the switches for my overhead lights.
Does it replace you rearview mount?

How did you mount it to the roof?

I imagine the existing screw holes from the dome light assembly and the overhead stock rear view mirror-light assembly.

it mounts to the rear view mirror mount in the front. in the rear, above the window is a rail under the headliner that it is bolted to. i also ran my wires through that rail for my cb and power for a small fuse box. i want to move my switches up in the console.
but, now i might rebuild it to also fit a Ham radio up there.
