I've always been interested in buying a 1970-ish landcruiser, but I was never sure where to look. I've tried Ebay, but I didn't come up with very much. Maybe there is a different keyword I should use?
Oh yeah, how about parts for this truck? Is it hard to obtain? Or are they readily available like they are for Tacomas? After I saw they yellow one on "Pimp My Ride' I knew I had to have one. Lame reason I know, but who cares?
Take a look at www.sor.com (Spector Off-Road). Parts are readily available, but depending on how pretty you want the body to look it can get real expensive. Good classfieds section on there too.
Land Cruiser parts in general are pricey compared to the Yota PU's/4rnr's and Heep parts. But they are built like tanks, the "Iron Pig". ih8mud.com is a good site to check out and they have a good classified section as well.
Again ih8mud.com a great resource. Do your research find the years you want (late70's)
as long as you dont get that pimp my ride edition you should be alright, and watch the rust buckets (look towards texas). 5 grand will get you a great start--one last summer with 350 swap, hardtop, 4'' lift springs, 33's--she ran 75mph like adream.
