got this email today from blm...again my concern is that without accurate data, it is not possible to do the "homework assignment"...specifically i refer to the fact that the area map (based on an inventory done years ago) does not reflect the trails currently in use. some trails are closed because of the proximity to the river bed...i can understand that. other trails are closed due to the desert tortoise population; however, there is nothing to note what areas are of specific concern for the tortoise habitat. how can we come up with alternatives without all of the data?
also the notes from the last meeting are not yet posted to the website, so not available for review. i did email them to advise them of this.
Greetings to all interested in the Table Mesa Recreation Planning:
The second of the core strategy group stakeholders meeting is tomorrow
evening, Tuesday, Feb. 3rd, at the Deer Valley Seniors' Center - beginning
at 6:00 pm. We encourage all of the folks who came to the meeting two
weeks ago to return with the "homework" assignments of presenting alternate
or additional recreation sites and roads to the BLM. If anyone cannot make
it, but has comments, please do enter them or provide to me.
For folks who want to come but who may have missed a meeting - we suggest
you hit the web site first - read the updates.
You can now access it at its regular URL at: www.TableMesaRecArea.com
