I've done some checking around but thought I'd ask. Is there a stronger aftermarket Tie Rod I can get for my 01 tacoma that will last a little longer? This will be the second time I've replaced the tie rods and my taco only has 80k miles on it. I am going to buy new tires soon because mine are bald on the outside and 70% on the inside due to bad tie rods. I brought my truck in for an alignment and they said don't bother until I get new tie rods. Makes sense. I'm going to upgrade if I can. Thanks!

I sent them an email. I'm sure they've heard it before. I just hate putting another EOM one on because they wear pretty quick it seems. I'm only running 33's

not sure. The guy at firestone said they were "bad" which I assume means worn. Didn't look bent to me? I jacked it up and moved the wheel. left right, up, down and it didn't feel to bad. Judging by my tire wear though, something is up.

i'd be about 99% positive he didnt have a clue
put a jack under the center cross member and jack it up till both front tires are just barely on the ground, have somebody hold a tape measure on the outter edge of the tire, do the same on the other side, make note of the measurement, then do the same on the front
to be REALLY accurate you need to pull the tires and clamp some angle iron to the hubs, but the tires will get you close

Sorry Glen, you kinda lost me buddy. Are you saying to check the tie rods or to do the alignment? I'm an idiot.
If it's broken I can fix it, if it's KINDA broken/worn, I don't have a clue. Not sure how to check for possible bad tie rods or wether it's inside or outside. Tried to move the wheel when I had it up to change the brakes to see if I could see any movement in the links but it didn't move enough to see the problem. It barely moved maybe 1/32" side to side. up/down was solid?
