Alright...with all of the snow, I think we had better take advantage of it before it all melts again!!
So...how does Wheelers Pass sound to everyone??

We can either start from the Pahrump side, or the Cold Creek side.

Sunday, Feb. 15th.

Meet 9:00 - 9:30 am

Leave by 9:55 am.

If it's the Pahrump side. meet at the last gas station/mini mart @ 160 & 159

If the Cold Creek side, then we can get together like at the Ann Road exit, think there's a gas station there as well.

I'm definitely interested... as long as the truck is ok.

Brett, you have a chance to take a look sometime this week?

always with the truck excuse. you should drop by so we can look at it. oh thats right. you are always out of town or busy....... lets fix it so you can go wheeling :D

I'm going to have to pass on this one. I did my snow run on saturday with my fam and 4-legged kids and thanks to CRC & fam for joining us , so now it's time to chill and save for the NVTTORA annual easter run in the mojave preserve. The way things are looking with fuel prices going up $0.03 per gallon / per day, it should be close to $4.00 come april.

P.S.

Everyone has been asking for club stickers including myself, sorry to say I checked with Carl and there are none available at the moment. However since there is an interest amongst the members here, I will be looking into getting a new batch of stickers printed up.

ya'll want to add on the wallace canyon to carpenter canyon run down through the poderosa rds rather than just drive down S52 to pahrump?

http://www.tacomaworld.com/gallery/data/500/medium/ponderosa_rd_1.jpg (http://www.tacomaworld.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/16768/cat/500)

this map shows where you turn off S52 to head up wallace on FSrd 081 then turn onto FSrd 568 & 569 down to carpenter

http://www.tacomaworld.com/gallery/data/500/medium/toyabe_SCANv2.JPG (http://www.tacomaworld.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/9452/cat/500)

of course if you wanted to you could take fenceline trail over to trout springs rd then up over lovel pass and either back over rocky gap road to red rock or lovell canyon rd back down to 160 and over the pass

If you hit snow like I went through on Potato last month.... You won't make it. I had a HELL of a time fully locked going thru about 3' snow, (and I'm on 37's) :) I have video of it, with MandAtaco. But I don't know how to upload it :( It was the top part of the rock garden...approx 150', it was still a BLAST!!! Mike tried to follow me, but had to winch himself out. :) Just becareful! But have fun. I wish I could join you.. I have a funeral to attend for a family friend that was murdered Thursday night. (I would much rather go wheeling..) :( :(

I am still thinking about it.

The SNOTEL station at Lee Canyon (8626 ft) is reading 38" of snow and the one at Bristlecone Trail (8979 ft) is reading 39" of snow today. Not too bad considering the one at Rainbow Canyon (7975 ft) is reading 53" of snow :).

The SCAN at Lovell Summit (6593 ft) is reading 12" of snow.

Trough Spring (7848 ft) is reading 15" of snow. This is one of the stations accessed via the Wheeler Pass trail, so it is the most relevant for this run.

so you'll need chains and be ready for lots of shoveling and winching as well.

you probably wont have to use chains but if you dont better make sure you have a winch or one is behind you.

let me check the snotel info i'll post later

Don't worry so much bro.....if chains are needed, Don and I have some, and can cut a path. Plus, me, Don, Ed, and Brett (he still might be there) all have winches!! Bring a big shovel though, I only have a small one in my truck.
Plus, I don't think it's going to be that bad, as I'm sure people have been up there today, and I don't think it's going to snow anymore this weekend.
