ok so i built my crawler a few years back and now im getting all of the bugs worked out of everything, this week im looking into a tune up, and moving the air filter over so it sits right below the hood scoop.....got room why not? so onward i was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to pop off the top of their air flow meter and take a good pic, mine has been messed with so much (by myself and the previous owner of it) the truck blows black smoke at idle, also how far does everyone have their bypass screw turned out??? :bitchslap

im looking to get the best gas mileage possible now(by setting the airflow meeter as close to stock) in the last few weeks i went from about 20 to about 12 on the highway and from about 12 city to 8 city :xsmash:

22r (old style) with re injection (new style)
new t-stat
good coolant
35/12.50/15 all terrains
4:10 gears
standard t-case gears

hell if nothing else does anyone have a AFM i could try if not buy??????

Your mileage is gonna suck with 35's and 4.10's.

If you're really interested in MPG, invest in some 5.29's

I blame winter gas as well. You could get a stock AFM for pretty cheap. That would be the way to go IMO. Then when you want the HP's (if any) that go with the one you got just swap em out at the trail head while you are airing down. I donno I am used to fing with chit all the time so it doesn't seem that big o hassle to me.

Get at least 488's there are a couple of thirds righ now for cheap on CL and scotty has one too.

with the 488's and a stock AFM you could get close to stock fuel mileage but that's a lot-o-meat to be spinning.

seems like a good idea to me.........they are actually pretty abundant...i could prolly pick up an extra for E-85 use
